After a long absence, I am finding out that the last experiment in administration of the site has not gone very well. I am open to shaking things up again to see if we can kick a little life into this place. I've briefly evaluated the current list of moderators and see that there are only 4 that active (Laley, OTrap, Heretic, ptown). I plan on removing the rest and adding a couple more, as well as a new day-to-day admin that will be more active. And by more active I mean it needs to be someone that is active on a daily basis. I see that the previous admin has only posted a few times in the last 6 months.

I am opening up the selection of the new mods and admin wholly to the group. Nominations (for others or yourself) can be made in this thread. Any other feedback is welcome. Like I said in another thread, I really haven't been around in a year or so, so I am completely out of the loop. I am open to any and all suggestions.

I'd like to nominate Ironman92 & sportsandlady as new mods...and as far as the admin is concerned, any of the four active mods would be a good choice

S&L, Like_That and sleeper I think would be good moderators and would bring a different aspect to it from what we currently have. Would be a good balance.

Obviously this nomination is contingent on him dropping the obvious troll act. Not sure that's possible or not.

Currently, not much. I think the idea is that they should help drive discussion by starting new threads and engaging in those that are started by regular members.

I think the last actions any of us took probably involved dumping Tiernan and Iggy in the basement. Can't think of anything much done by anyone other than site participation on the part of those of us who have been participating. Hasn't really been much of a need now that it's more a small group of posters where we all pretty much know each others' tendencies.

We were active in moderating when the site was having some serious back and forth between posters that crossed the line. Haven't had much since then. Some of that is also due to the fact that moderating in those times went against the original point of the site, which was it was more unfiltered. Never really were sure which way to go, so most of the "duties" just became positing a lot and trying to drive discussion.

Honestly? Belly should be a moderator. He's the most active member on the site and I believe he would be impartial. That dude takes more shit then anyone one here and just rolls with the punches. He's earned it.

I also think like_that would do a good job.

Fab4Runner would be good. Maybe she can bring some women to this sausage party. Haha. I'd LOVE to do a Mr. OhioChatter contest each year!!!!

Anyone notice highroller changed his name to lovejoy1984?

Anyway, when I put my name in the hat for admin I suggested the following to Justin:

"As far as mods I would also like to put that up for a nomination and voting process. If the majority of posters like the mods they pick then they tend to have less issues with their decisions. I would also like mods to have open discussion after they thread ban or infract anybody to see if they are all on the same page. Sometimes mods aren't right and it's ok to fix a mistake. If I were to pick some names I would pick the guys who contribute a lot, are not easily offended, and are pretty respected. The following names come to mind, but aren't limited to: heretic, lhslep, ironman. These guys tend to not have a bias."

In addition to the above, if I were a mod i wouldn't "ban" anyone unless they are revealing permanent info. As much shit as we give CC, I thought it was complete bullshit when somebody tried to report his posts to an employer to get him fired. Other than that, I think thread bans have solved 98% of trolling issues. It has been laid back here lately and I am fine with that. There are times arguments get off track, but the thread comes back together.

My vote goes to vball10set, Ironman92, and LT for moderators.

Otrap or Laley for admin.

As far as forum ideas, can't you mass email all members of the forum? Might be a good way to restore some activity by sending an email saying "We're still here and people still post, come on back!"

I'm not sure if the software has that capability (it probably does), but I definitely have access to everyone's email.

I also agree with your suggestions on mods/admins.

Thank you, but I respectfully decline, and I'd like to throw your name into the hat for a mod if you're game (along with S&L and Ironman92)...and fwiw, I agree with the two admin nominees

Of all the suggestions I've seen so far I like the idea of I92 as an admin the most. If he's interested, the position is his. For the moderators, I'll likely put a handful of those nominated up for a vote and take the top two.
