I don't travel as much as I used to, stay in the office mostly now, so I don't get to listen to as much political radio shows as I used to. My favorites were Dennis Miller, Michael Savage, and Mark Levin. I have since found the latter on podcasts but Dennis isn't on there. Who do you listen to if at all?

I form my own opinions and don't regurgitate talking points from biased media.

That's why I stick to independent radio hosts...not bound to MSM contracts to be nothing more than marionettes. #buybyeSleeper

I tried to listen to Glenn Beck for a bit. But, he was way over the top. Couldn't deal with his dramatics and single-mindedness.

Glenn Beck has been really bad for a few years maybe more...he wasn't bad when he first started out, but the guy went nuts.

Yeah that's not what I do at all. I read articles from both sides and then read the data that backs up those articles. Then I apply my education and years of experience working in Consulting to derive my own opinions and those opinions are usually right.
How do I know this? Because companies pay me and my company, a lot of money for the service of understanding how the world works and helping these companies solve problems. If I wasn't correct, they wouldn't pay me increasing bonuses every year to retain that talent and continue providing my service.
Reality. It's always on my side.

Cato Daily podcast
It's dry, but very to the point.

Beck was actually pretty damn good back circa 2004-2005...it was almost more comedy than politics most of the time.

When it's the same tired troll take over and over again why waste words? This is a thread about political radio/podcasts and slweeper adds nothing to it.

None. I used to be a fairly heavy listener of Rush, Beck and Gordon Liddy. I concluded that the latter two are batshit crazy (although Liddy's now retired) and that Rush isn't worth it. I am a very slow learner. But I finally seemed to pick up on Rush's gimmick - he posits his facts in an "us vs them" context that leads the listener and has no objective basis.
Anyway, I turned them all off, along with their counterparts on Fox News, MSNBC, etc. I find myself much happier for that decision.

I enjoyed Liddy. He was a hoot and made me think. As fish noted, Beck used to be fairly funny and made his points through comedy. He's about as dark as anyone out there today.
Do you remember when Rush came on nationally, circa 1992? He was the ONLY conservative on the air anywhere and it was soooo refreshing to learn the other side of the news. He reaffirmed what his listeners were thinking in a way that gave them confidence and a sharper eye when the MSM and the government lied to them. He's refined his tone since then and he's not nearly as combative as he used to be, IMO. Regarding the "gimmick", as you say, you don't listen to him enough. He posits stories in a way that the listener has to figure out what's going on...he doesn't provide answers, he provides other information that the MSM doesn't give out and lets the listener decide. His #1 target has always been the media and their ability to misinform the nation.
I'm a strong admirer of Mark Levin.

I usually detest talk radio, but every so often on the drive home, I pop on the start of the Levin show just to see what the hell he is ranting about. I last about 10 minutes before I start yelling and aggressive driving on the beltway.

He's a good follow on twitter as well. He sometimes goes on a guy's show named Crowder, and he's pretty good as well. One video where he had Shapiro on he got water boarded to see how it felt. He has some funny shit like dressing up like Bob Ross and painting Mohammed too.

I'll throw Shapiro in the podcast loop. Like to listen to Ken Carman then switch over to yesterday's podcasts. If there is a person who talks about himself more than Obama it's gotta be Sean Hannity. Unlistenable.

lol, I have seen it. I figured Shapiro should be a guy you like. It takes raw data and forms educated opinions around them. He is also obviously right leaning, but he calls out the right all the time including people like Limbaugh and other partisan hacks in the media.

Good call on Shapiro. He's in the rotation.
Why is there a lack of left radio? Does NPR fill their needs?
