That's absurd, especially considering the fact that Urban is 3-2 against Dantonio since coming to Ohio State. The last two games have been decided by a total of 4 points.

College Football wants them as part of the maybe candidates

If they win out they’ll be in discussion but fall short about #6

He was 9/29 with 3 INTs vs Va Tech. Lol

Edit: 12/19 74 yards, 2 INTs vs Penn State.

Maybe look up what inconsistent means?

I just read that MSU's qb has thrown for 400 yards 2 weeks in a row. Let's hope he doesn't make it 3...

How many of these are reads, though? If they are reads, then it's more JT than the coaches.

They need to line up and run the ball. No read option, no run-pass-option. Run the ball down someone's threat.

It doesn't matter, the numbers don't lie. RUN MORE DESIGNED RUNS FOR THE FUCKING RUNNING BACKS.

When a school's number #1 run option is doing the exact same play over and over again (JT gets ball, acts like he's handing to back and either does hand it off or fakes it and runs himself), I'd say the problem is a lack of diversity and imagination in play calling. Regardless of how superior a team supposedly is based on the star ratings of players on the field, if a decent team is 90+% sure what you're running, you aren't going to have much success most of the time.

The issue with the read is that you put too much trust in your QB and you forget to pull the reins in when he's not making the right reads. Or, you continue to call the read when the defense is making your QB run it every single time by taking away the run option of it... then you're taking away a blocker. Like Automatik said, you have to do designed runs to add the blocker and purposely get the ball out of JT's hands.

Season is over anyway. Thanks Urban.

Just beat Michigan and I'll be somewhat ok with how it turned out.

If this team can get their act together, win out and win the Big Ten Championship, then it'll be a successful season. Obviously, not the season everyone had in mind, but it's still solid. Winning a bowl game against a premier opponent would really give them a lot of momentum heading into next season as well.

Now, after watching what transpired last weekend, I don't have much confidence in any of the stuff I mentioned actually happening, but I'm not giving up yet. There is talent there. I wanna see that talent put in a position to be successful, and then I want to see them execute. We'll see what happens on Saturday.

Does anyone think coaching turnover is catching up with Ohio State? I'm highly confident if we had Fickell & Herman things would be different

Coaching turnover could be part of the problem, as well as player turnover. Ohio State has lost a lot of guys early to the NFL recently.

That said, you still just can't lose by 31 to Iowa.

Bama and many other top programs arent losing by 30+ ever. THat is what should concern all of us. Big time programs with big time recruits should NEVER get blown out. If they do, its the coaching.

I was curious after that loss and looked it up a few days ago... I don’t remember the exact year but Bama has only lost 1 game by more than a TD since 2009 or 2010.

So what happens if OSU wins out (B1G title game over undefeated Wisconsin) and some of these other teams finish with 2 losses? Does OSU have any shot to get back in the playoff convo?

ND could lose again either to Stanford or this wknd to Miami. 2 losses.

Clemson loses in the conference title game to Miami. 2 losses

Georgia loses this wknd @ auburn and then to Alabama in the conf title game. 2 losses

Oklahoma loses in the conf title game. 2 losses

Tcu loses this wknd to Oklahoma. 2 losses.

Washington loses @ Stanford this wknd. 2 losses.

Gotta think it’d be Bama, Miami and then Bucks squeak in?
