Have tomorrow off, too (driving back to Ohio). Gonna be a good night.

Mike Weber has been nursing a hamstring injury. I have a feeling he might not play that much tonight. Tonight could be the coming out party for JK Dobbins.

Hopefully the Ohio State offense looks good tonight, even if it is the first game. Definitely excited to see what kind of difference Kevin Wilson makes.

#76 on IU line is a Ohio boy that is a total stud. Big Wes.

Good opening tester for the Buckeyes, especially their inexperienced secondary...also, Greg Schiano earned his paycheck last night after the halftime adjustments he made....1-0

Have to spread them around. But to be fair it was announced fairly early that Webber would see very little action if any at all. Urban even said Monday that Webber had tweaked his hammy again. But I would still rep you for calling it out. Unfortunately still have to spread some around. JK Dobbins has been talked about a lot and now I completely understand. That kid is going to be a beast. Wish he was a little taller.

Thanks ccrunner. Nice to see a Milton kid playing in the B10. He definitely showed his speed and quick feet on this play.

Haha. I was just kidding since Dobbins played well.

Weber wouldn't have done anything more than what Dobbins did. Urban MIGHT have let him stay in to get the early TD, but that's it. Dobbins was great.

1. *Weber. Jesus Fucking Christ...

2. Dobbins set a freshman record for yards in a game and, if not for giving Williams some late-game reps, would have easily had a 200-yard game. I highly doubt you'd be getting much of an improvement on that performance regardless of who the back was.

What happened with Eric Glover Williams? See he is no longer on the team. Havent read much about it but thought someone here might know more.

Haven't heard anything other than he was dismissed from the team. I first thought that he was just discouraged by where he was on the depth chart, and decided to leave, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Reading on eleven warriors it is something from his past. But him being a junior I could not imagine it just now hampering his progress. I would have thought it would have come out before now. But I guess we will eventually find out.

I disliked Urban Meyer's remarks last week about coaches blaming previous staffs for leaving the cupboard bare. He was specifically referring to Tom Herman at Texas. The reason I disliked what he said is because I think it is poor judgement to make negative comments about a former assistant in a public forum like that. Second, Meyer says in the article, "when I came here, people wanted me to say Jim Tressel left the cupboard bare." Basically this is an underhanded way of doing the exact thing he's professing to not like. He essentially said that he was too good a man to call out a previous staff's inadequacies even though everyone recognized that indeed Tressel left him little - and by saying this, he was sure to let the interviewer (and public) know about it.

Maybe I'm reading the wrong quotes but I didn't even see where Herman was disparaging the players. I read there was no magic pixie dust and they had a lot of work to do. Even so, i also found it strange that Meyer felt the need to address it publicly and I appreciate that Herman didn't feel the need to respond.

Herman was basically implying that the Texas program when he arrived was in a state that would prohibit it from being an easy fix. They weren't going to immediately go from 5-7 to contending for a national title by using some magic pixie dust.

That's probably true, but it's also a shot at Charlie Strong. If you remember, Charlie Strong was a defensive coordinator for Urban at Florida. Couple that with the fact that Herman/Beck were taking a bunch of credit for Ohio State's recruiting success in the state of Texas (somewhat warranted) and including OSU players in Texas recruiting graphics simply because they coached them at one point, and you can see why Urban might be a little annoyed with Herman. Oh, and the fact that Herman basically came out and said that Ohio State's offensive problems had nothing to do with Beck and Warinner, and implied that Urban is part of the problem. You can bet that one really irked Urban.

The sad thing is, he might be right about the offensive woes. I absolutely think that Urban is way more involved in the play-calling than he lets on, and isn't taking the heat for the offensive deficiencies that we've been seeing. That's probably part of the reason he was so sensitive about the things Herman has said lately, so he decided to take a shot of his own.

Ohio State got a commitment from JUCO defensive tackle Antwuan Jackson today. Jackson previously committed to Auburn over Ohio State, but left the program after one season and is currently enrolled at Blinn College because Auburn blocked his transfer to any SEC school, other teams on Auburn's 2017 schedule, and Ohio State. Jackson should be able to enroll at OSU next semester. This a pretty big addition to an already stacked depth chart on the D-Line.

my thoughts exactly...

https://www.elevenwarriors.com/skull-sessions/2017/09/85332/ohio-state-buckeyes-football-urban-meyer-jk-dobbins
“I think it’s probably more the offense than the quarterback,” said a veteran coach who studied the Buckeyes intensely this offseason. “I like J.T. and think he’s a capable athlete. The offense is hindering his ability to excel. It’s more of the offense than the player, in my opinion.”
