I don't understand why they set MSU price higher than PSU given performances last year.

It depends on how bad you want to go and how much you want to pay. If you definitely have to be there, it's probably not a bad idea to check with a scalper and get tickets now. I've gone to football games many times and waited until kickoff and you can usually get a good deal. If i can't find a deal i just find someplace you watch on tv. I've only had to watch on tv a few times BUT they've all been since Urban was the coach. So it might not be as easy as it used to be.

Obviously it doesn't help you out this year but if you were to ask me before the alumni ticket sale next year i could get you tickets for face value if you were willing to pay that price.

Just trying to go with my fiancé and dad and brother. I'm in Chicago so if I'm going to Columbus for that weekend, I'd like to buy tickets beforehand.

I don't HAVE to go, but definitely want to try and get tickets. Just don't want to spend $250/300 a ticket for upper deck seats. But if that's what the price will be, then so be it.

Just never know when to pull the trigger on sports tickets.

Yeah it's tough to pull the trigger on a grand worth of tickets when it's not going to be even decent seats.

I'll probably hold off and wait til closer to the game.

Thanks all for the info though

I think closer to the game is the best scenario. Last year my buddy and I paid $325 each for really good seats in the upper deck and the week before the game I think we could have gotten them for $250 or so(though other seats around there at the time we bought them were $400+, and if Oklahoma had beaten Houston they may have stayed there), but we locked ours up in summer and they were like 6th row at the 30 yard line in the upper deck so I was happy with what we did. Face value for these tickets are $190 each though so even the worst seats will be $200+. Just check stubhub regularly and hopefully you can snag a good deal on there.

5* TE Jeremy Ruckert has committed to Ohio State!

https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football-recruiting/2017/07/83523/four-star-tight-end-jeremy-ruckert-commits-to-ohio-state

Ruckert is currently a composite 4*, but several of the recruiting services have not updated their rankings at this time. 247 sports has him as a 5* and the #11 player in the country.

Hes a Buckeye so his rankings will drop ten spots.

I have noticed it happening a lot. ESPN does it bad even when they have great outings at these camps. I just dont understand and it dont matter how many articles I read about it, I dont think I will ever understand it. I did see the rb from Tennessee jumped in the rankings. He is going to be a good one.

I honestly think that all of the recruiting services like to bump uncommitted prospects up a little extra in the rankings to create some drama down the stretch toward signing day. When they bump guys up, someone has to fall. With OSU having so many highly ranked players, they may drop a few spots because of that, and then it seems like those guys are being penalized despite solid camp performances. It's not that big of a deal since the rankings go out the window once they arrive on campus, but it can definitely be annoying, especially for a player who has worked hard and has proven themselves to be worthy of a lofty ranking.

I will say that it's pretty strange that when ESPN updated their rankings, like 11 of the 14 commits at that time fell in the rankings. 247 Sports, who I think does the best job rankings players and also does an overall composite of the four major scouting services, dropped all but one of the Buckeyes (Teague moved way up, but he'll move up in the new releases by other services as well). It really does make you wonder.

All of that said, Ohio State is recruiting at a level right now that the program has never seen before. Last year's class had an average per player of 94.47, and currently with 15 commits, the 2018 class has an average of 95.43! What's scary is that number may get even higher by signing day with several big names still on the board. Urban Meyer is 61-6 at Ohio State, has lost only 3 games to Big Ten teams in 5 seasons, has been to two CFPs, and has won a national championship. With the way he and his staff are recruiting, he's likely going to better those marks in the next five years, which is just crazy.

The 2018 class currently sits at 15 commits. Ohio State is losing 12 seniors after next season, probably will lose a handful of early entrants to the NFL Draft, and there's always a little attrition with transfers or medical hardships, so I think the number for this class is probably around 23 when all is said and done. The staff wants to add two WRs and things are looking good with Kamryn Babb and Blue Smith. They probably want two more O-Linemen, one of which I hope will be Jackson Carman. Guessing Fredrick Scruggs may end up being the other. Defensively, they probably will add two more defensive linemen, but may want three. I'm thinking Tyreke Smith from the Cleveland area will be in, and hoping that they add Micah Parsons as well. One more LB, which will be Solomon Tuliaupupu if he wants in, and K'Vaughan Pope if he doesn't. Probably only one more DB, which will hopefully be Anthony Cook, but they're gonna push for Tyson Campbell as well. So 4 more guys on each side of the ball gets the class to 23. Since they would take only 23 players, they probably wouldn't break the overall mark set by the 2010 Florida class (the class had 28 players and was Meyer's last recruiting class at UF), but they would most likely crush the record for average per player, which OSU set last recruiting cycle.

I think the Buckeyes will end up with Pope. He seems to want to be a Buckeye pretty bad. I read that Wray is bringing a slew of tennessee guys to FNL's. I hope the kid that committed to georgia flips. Hes coming up as well. I have to say I have not been this happy about recruiting in awhile. It is great to see the guys that Urban is getting.
