Proves your first statement wrong, regardless of tax rates on rich over the last 7 or 8 decades, the tax revenue as a percentage of GDP has been relatively constant, between 15-20% depending on recession timing.

It is our spending that is out of control, your second statement is obviously part of that, as well as the other 2 major entitlement programs.

That statement included a link to a 30 November 2016 announcement from Carrier trumpeting “very productive conversations” between the company and then-President-elect Donald Trump that would keep “more than 1,000 jobs” in Indiana. Trump also promoted the agreement.
However, since November, the company has backtracked on that estimate; on its Twitter account, the companyrevised “more than 1,000 jobs” to “close to 1,000 jobs”; and it admitted that its initial figure included 300 administrative positions at another location that were never in danger of being eliminated. In reality, only 800 of those positions were to be kept in Indiana.

Still, I agree that a metric for success for Trump should be the labor participation rate as well as the rise in wages. This should have and were metrics for Obama.
