1) I'm talking about the actual politicians, not the registered voters. Actually Trump got over the hump because of democrat crossovers and independents etc.... I have previously provided that data on numerous occasions. There are now radical leftist groups threatening companies who will work on the project; hopefully most companies ignore these idiots and secure the work for their employees which will ultimately benefit all of us.

As for infrastructure, Trump is looking at a combination of private investment along with public money to get to a trillion. Unfortunately the establishment wants the taxpayers to pony up all the money. Draining the swamp is never easy.

It is exactly the same - the only difference is the liberal media cares about the Russia investigation and thereby plays a greater role in the Democrat obstruction of Trump whereas they just barely followed the Conservative media and Republican hysteria and obstruction of Obama and Hillary when they would let the smoke trickle into the mainstream.

And again - is there any doubt that Gut would be frothing if Obama did anything like Trump? I actually don't mind having Trump's feet held to the fire. More of that should happen, at the very least, on the Presidential scale (since we lacked that in general with Obama).

What I DO mind is when the media/congress/senate actually want to find something to go on about and then drag it out. The dems obviously are too stupid to pour piss out of a boot in order to put it on - they learned absolutely nothing from the republican's mistakes. It's pure dumbassery.

If they find something concrete on Trump to do something with, fine. Do something about it and move on to the next step.
If they don't find something concrete, fine. Move on to something else.

As far as Russia goes - narrow down what needs to be fixed as far as electronic intelligence goes. Fix the shit. Move on. And, hopefully, keep a better eye on things.

Re: wall: Companies may look at it and say it is just too much risk and not enough reward, at least that is what I am hearing while talking to firms at events and meetings. I know the big boys firms are waiting until after the prototype to see if there ever is a big procurement for the whole thing.

Re: Infrastructure. Private investment sounds great, but how do you entice companies to invest? I'm not building your highway or bridge for free? What incentive do I get as a company to build? The usual answer is P3, public private partnerships. But, those only apply to big cities and areas that have the ability to figure out the finance package (so not your favorite area, rural America.). Also, that usually means more and more toll roads and bridges, which I am not sure most Americans have a stomach for.

The other way to entice firms is to provide a good finance structure and funding source from states and local governments. But, that is normally tied to a federal payment and loan structure. TIGER grants or FAST funds. Those prioritize state programs so projects in say CA do not get more funding than say Ohio or North Carolina. Those are the funds that Trump is flat lining and not growing. So, even if he wants to spur investment, the mechanisms for which firms may look to invest and figure out which projects are viable is not growing.

Also, right now, if I am a big firm, I want to build things in cities, not rural areas. So, if the federal programs that provide priority programs goes away or is flat, that means rural America loses out.

For example, my firm would rather build up I-95 on the east coast than I-71 as we know I-95 get more traffic and is a more credible source of revenue for us.

I don't actually disagree with many of the similarities. However, I'd be curious regarding your correlation between the two in the context of effectiveness. You say "and it worked!" regarding the investigation into Clinton, though that ultimately only seemed to "work" in the court of public opinion.

Granted, that carries weight when you NEED public opinion for something, but at present, Trump doesn't really. Any effect that would prove that it "worked" against Trump would likely result in his impeachment. However, it doesn't appear that any such success was gained against Clinton, either.

It just seems like there are different definitions of success for the two. As such, you might have two scenarios, both with similar efforts and similar outcomes, but in which one was a success and one was a failure.
