I think it's a combination of the shorter shot clock and the Warriors effect. The NBA has seen such an increase of pace and scoring recently and I think you're seeing that style rub off on the college game

I mean, I feel horrible for the player. He's a stud. But McDermott can jump of a cliff. Dude is a slimeball.

Fuck Creighton. Grant Gibbs is probably winking somewhere right now.

Very impressive. I give Roy a hard time, but his record speaks for itself. Outstanding coach.

He saved the program. I'm hard on him at times too, but no one could have done what he did. No one "in the family" that is.

Completely agree. Carolina is forever indebted to him for coming home when he did, winning two national titles, and leading the program through this tough time as well.

The word going around or hearsay from NBA scouts are that Harry Giles was a better prospect as a 9th grader than today, and that he's going to regret ever going to Duke or trying to play on a big stage this year.

Siginificant injuries to both knees. Hard to be the same player after that.

Not the point.

Most are saying he shouldn't be playing this year at all. He's being exposed, which is the WORST thing for his stock. If he could've sat out and sold people that he was 100% based on workouts and videos alone, he probably still goes top 3-5 in the draft. Right now, he might fall outside of the lottery.

Sorry if I missed the point.

I would think NBA GMs would be very suspicious if he sat out. Whatever the case may be, the injuries have probably ruined things for him.

Indiana almost blows it at PSU, but gets a nice road win. Comes at cost though, as it looks like OG Anunoby is out for the year...MRI to come, but looked like ACL.

Still entirely too early to look at mocks seriously but here are a few that I have found.

That's crazy.

In perspective, I remember an article prior saying if he would've been eligible in the Towns/Okafor draft, he would've gone #1.

I also agree if he sat out, there might be suspicion, but at the same time, I think you could've argued that it would be understood. Similar to these guys skipping bowl games; plus he had the off-season knee injury which required another minor procedure.

Georgia got fucked royally today. Down 1 with 20 seconds left, they have the ball in the final possession. The arena clock froze on an error at 5.6 seconds...they continue to play on and Georgia gets fouled taking a last shot lay-up where the guy is pulled down to prevent an easy lay in. The refs noticed the clock has been frozen for a bit, they go back to look at the replay, and with a stop watch, determine that the time WOULD HAVE expired. They waive the foul off and declare A&M the winner.

Of course, the game happened at Texas A&M, it was their clock operator who fucked it up...and instead of replaying it, the refs play the "would have" game and called it over.

I've really never seen this happen before. Any referee input on whether this was actually done by the book?

You gotta replay that. How embarrassing

I think if they can confirm it with a stopwatch then it sounds like they should have lost.

It happened in the Iowa State/Carolina tournament game a couple years back. Carolina inbounded it, called TO. The clock didn't start right away, they reviewed and boom, game over. Might not be EXACTLY the way it happened, but pretty close.

Not necessarily the exact same situation, but similar.

Logically, sure. But obviously a clock violation isn't likely to happen if the clock is counting down.

Miami is pissing down their leg in the second half. 1 point in 7 minutes.

Miami is a pedestrian team and Duke literally looked as complacent as possible in the first half.

It's also pretty crazy how much Jim Larranaga w/glasses resembles Jim Boeheim though.

This NBA class is insanely deep. I can't remember a PG trio as good as Dennis Smith, Jr., Lonzo Ball, DeAaron Fox and Markelle Fultz...and we might not see any of them drafted first overall.
