I would normally think that too, and that may be better overall for their chances, but for some reason I'm thinking they're gonna pair them with Nova.

I think Zona Should be a 1 over either Zaga or any ACC team

I agree with this, but I think since Gonzaga beat them head-to-head, they won't get a #1 over them. They should probably be ranked over Carolina and Duke, but a #2 seed out West is actually better for them than a #1 seed somewhere else.

South - #1 Duke, #2 Kentucky
West - #1 Gonzaga, #2 Arizona
you would think that this is likely but I could see Carolina going west for the 2 seed and Zona going south and Duke coming back east.

No way should Syracuse be in. Sure they've had some big wins at home but at the end of the day 18-14 doesn't deserve an at large bid in the tournament. I believe they said an RPI of 84 is the worst an at large would ever have

Nova as the #1 overall seed gets to pick their region.

All D-1 teams were asked to submit their choice before the season started. As a perk for the #1 overall seed, they get their choice.

Jim Sparnukel was trapped in the hotel elevator with some band members for 1.5 hours. The rotar ended up catching on fire and they had to cut a hole in the top, strap him into a harness and lift him up. The poor guy is terrified of heights lol.

On a selfish level, only have 2 elevators working in the hotel is a bitch
Damn

They love their potential UK/Duke regional final. Can't repeat magic. Hate the desperation, just seed them fairly.

I think Duke should be a bottom 2 seed.

I would make Gonzaga a #1 and if they didn't reach the sweet 16 they would never be a #1 again regardless.

Where do you guys think Wichita State should be seeded?

ESPN has them as an 8, CBS has them as a 10! I was thinking they'd be like a 6. Does 8-10 seem low to everyone or am I crazy?

I think their overall resume is definitely a 2, so I agree with you. I really just having a feeling they're gonna bump them up to a 1, though, for some reason. I honestly believe Arizona will get a 2 in the West, which is actually a "reward" by being closer to home and getting Gonzaga as their 1. If that happens, then I think Duke gets the nod over Carolina.

Seems like some analysts are dropping Oregon to a 3 because of the injury to Boucher, which bumps Baylor to a 2. I think that's ridiculous since Baylor has been pretty questionable for a while now.

Duke and Kentucky are both getting some consideration as a 1-seed. Bracket Matrix has UK at 1.91 and Duke at 1.98.

I don't see how Carolina has an argument over either...

They have Carolina at 1.38, Duke at 1.79, UK at 1.89.

Must've updated since I posted. I still don't see how Carolina has an argument over either. They are coasting on being anointed a 1-seed since clinching the ACC regular season 2 weeks ago.

Kentucky has a higher RPI than Carolina, 2 less losses, beat them head to head. Carolina has 11 top 50 wins (Virginia Tech 47, Monmouth 48, Miami 42) while UK has 8 top 50 wins (and beat Georgia 52 three times).

Duke beat Carolina 2 of 3, has 2 more top 50 wins and they have the highest SOS of the 3. Now, going against Duke is that an 8-loss team has never gotten a 1 before.

Basically everyone except Lunardi has Carolina as a 2. He's keeping them there because of their 11 wins against the Top 50, and probably because they won the ACC regular season by two games. Problem is, the unbalanced conference schedule did favor them, and Duke has 12 wins over the Top 50 including taking 2 out of 3 head-to-head. UK also beat Carolina in a close game on a neutral court. Maybe Lunardi knows something from the committee that we don't, but I just don't see how Carolina can be a 1 now.

Edit: Beat me to it with your last post.

I'm pretty surprised, actually. But it does make sense when you look at the season as a whole.

Duke a #2 in East which is good (means they weren't a top 5)....and play in Greenville South Carolina.....but I don't like the 2nd Rd matchup with South Carolina.

Anyone else see that as a tough matchup? (I don't know much about South Carolina)

Still not sure how Carolina still got the 1 seed, and I think their half of the South bracket couldn't have been any better. Very fortunate.
