Good riddance. Don't let the door hit you and welcome to another losing team.

No doubt! So many people complaining about the deal but he had to go. Either sit him to let Peraza play, release him and pay all his salary and get nothing or basically give him away like they did. He was a very good player for the reds, and did what was asked and did a phenomenal job. SUcks to see players you like leave and kids and many women dont understand all of it, but the older you get the more you realize it is a business and we root for the names on the front, not the back, of the unis

...and lets face it...he fucked the team for the last 2 years being a bitch about the no-trade clause. Apparently, he wanted CASH to waive it. That's not some loyal player I want to praise and remember for anything more than what he is.

Have been saying the same thing myself. He was greedy, and when I saw he turned down a trade to the Natinals and a chance to get on a contender for the end of his career I was basically done with him and hoping he would go to a shitty team!

The Reds will be the Astros of 2012 and 2013. They will probably also completely blow their back to back #1 overall picks like Houston did.

I'm not worried about drafting if they happen to get an extremely high pick again. I really like what I've seen from Dick Williams so far, I think the Reds are in good hands going forward.

They have fucked up almost every pick in the last 5 years.

Nick Senzel looks to be the real deal. Who did the drafting last year, Jocketty or Williams?

Senzel was the most recent, but he's hardly played much. Appears good for now.

Ervin, Howard, Travieso and Blandino all look like complete turd picks. Like won't even sniff the major leagues picks. Both Stephenson's do have a shot to make it, as does Winker and Lorenzen is probably what he is, but the last good pick before them was Grandal and the Reds dealt him.

I don't disagree that they've whiffed on a few of their recent first round picks. But they've got a new GM so I'm not so sure past results are really relevant to the plan going forward.

And even with the 1st round whiffs, they do have guys like Sal Romano and Amir Garrett that look like studs in the making and will likely be in the rotation this season at some point.

Like Garrett but I'll be shocked if he's a stud. He's 25 already. Solid arm, yes, I agree.

Listen, we're both huge fans and I'm trying to be positive, it's just so hard. The Reds seemingly can't even trade guys at the right time.

I want to be positive because I'm genuinely a Reds fan. Before any other sport or team.

They have been the worst organization in MLB the last 3 years. And will have by far the worst record in that same span after this year.

Sorry your expectations are so low.

The Reds' competitive window closed. What did they NOT do? Follow the only blueprint that was working, which is suck so bad for a few years, get a ton of top picks and then compete really well for a 4-5 year window. Call me skeptical that this regime can nail all the player development and savvy trades needed to get there. They haven't really done anything to show they will.

I think the game has started to pass Jocketty by, though he wasn't bad at trades, but I think Dick Williams has a much more analytical, SABRmetric approach to the game and I am cautiously optimistic that he has a plan in place and will stick to it going forward. If the Reds aren't competitive in 2018 I will be surprised (and disappointed, of course) and will start to fall into grumpy Reds fan territory.

I'm really looking forward to Sal Romano and Amir Garrett pitching at the big league level this season. Reed has looked great as well, hopefully this means he won't have his brains bashed in this season. Even BobSteve has looked serviceable. It's hard to believe he's only 24, I swear he's been in the system for a damn decade.

Not looking forward to Scott Feldman, Tim Adelman or Bronson Arroyo. Please put these scrubs out of their misery. I ONLY want to watch young guys with some potential.

Arroyo pitching will get me right in the feels, so I won't mind that for a month or two. But yeah, I'm not too excited about Feldman or Adelman (though I have met him and he's a really nice guy).

The Reds 25-man is going to be an embarrassment.

Amir Garrett and Rookie Davis have made the 25-man and will start the year in the rotation.
