I'm sure they'll be replaced by those that are similar but at least we won't have to see those 3 and kids in the OF seats will be safer.

Lamb was traded to the rays for cash (fiddy bucks maybe?). He just had back surgery as well.
An "insider"/ scout (for a diff franchise) I know says that the Votto to Toronto thing is still out there, but he has a no trade clause and the reds would likely have to eat some of it. Unlikely, but it isnt totally off the table, and the Yankees were interesting in Descalfini for a couple of mid level prospects.
Need to move Phillips. Bailey needs to come back strong. Descalfini.....set a reds record last year for most starts giving up 3 hits or less....impressive.
Played over .500 ball in the second half.
Not as far away as it seemed in the first half.
Signed some hotshot from the mexican league I think....16 yr old pitcher.
Need Meseraco to come back strong, same with bailey. Hamilton needs to take that next step. He started to turn it around in working with Votto.

Meso I worry will never return to that middle of the order starting catcher.
Middle level prospects for Disco and Yankees can suck it.
Hoping Homer works his way toward an ace pitcher but will always feel he's head weak and benefitted greatly from working with Ryan Hanigan.
Everyone has jumped on the wins aren't important yet all the best pitchers pile them up.

To me either Phillips or Cozart HAS to go. Peraza should get as many AB next year as Phillips got this year.
If Peraza doesn't start at SS or 2nd I will probably explode about 10 games in.

BILLY HAMILTON ($2.65M), ZACK COZART ($5.35M), BLAKE WOOD ($1.275M) & TONY CINGRANI ($1.825M). This is the first year eligible for Hamilton & Cingrani, second year for Wood and third (& last) for Cozart, the latter will be eligible for free agency next winter.

Reds buy Straily low last year and sell him high now. Hopefully Reds talent evaluators are astute on who they are getting. According to ESPN:
Miami dealt right-handed pitching prospects Luis Castillo, Austin Brice and minor league outfielder Isaiah White for Straily. The deal is pending physicals.
Castillo, 24, pitched at Single-A and Double-A last season, going 8-6 with a 2.26 ERA and 103 strikeouts in 131 2/3 innings.
Brice, also 24, threw in Double-A and Triple-A. He was 4-7 with a 2.74 ERA in 32 minor league games, including 13 starts. He appeared in 15 games for the Marlins last season where he had a 7.07 ERA in 14 big league innings.
White, 20, was taken in the third round of the 2015 draft by Miami. He played at short-season Single A last season, hitting .214 with one homer and 17 RBIs in 51 games.

Was a bit surprised with straily getting traded. In the reds storied franchise he set an impressive record. He set the franchise record in starts in which he gave up 3 or fewer hits. Think about that. That is tremendous, and he didnt even start the season in the rotation.

I agree. I think this is one of the times the reds came out in front in a trade. Not bad return for a guy who I think was a waiver wire pickup last year. Didn't seem to get much of anything for him, either. A guy coming off Tommy John who'd been outrighted and was poor during his one year in MLB and a 29-year-old Cuban with blah peripherals in the minors last year. While paying most of his salary. Glad to see the Reds move Phillips. Not because I don't like Phillips, but he's not the part of the future so he'd just be taking playing time away from those that are/could be. I'm looking forward to his induction in the Reds Hall of Fame.
