Indians sign Jose Ramirez for 5 years $26 million. Good move.

Havent seen a full box, but Diaz had a double and RBI at one point (not sure if RBI double lol).ohiobucks1;1844517 wrote:Diaz is batting cleanup today, let's hope he continues to rake and can force Tito to keep him
Brantley also was 2-2 with a single and deep double to center. If/when healthy, Tito has said he will be our #3 hitter.

I did not realize that, thought Lindor would bat third with Brantley fifth.Laley23;1844547 wrote:Brantley also was 2-2 with a single and deep double to center. If/when healthy, Tito has said he will be our #3 hitter.

Lindor 2. But this might be the answer given, knowing Kipnis is out. Might be different when he returns.Sonofanump;1844561 wrote:I did not realize that, thought Lindor would bat third with Brantley fifth.

Nevermind about Austin Jackson.
What is going on with Kluber and his 6.17 ERA?

I wouldn't worry too much about Kluber. Spring Training, for pitchers, is mostly about experimentation and building their stamina back up. If his ERA is over 6 in June/July, then I'd worry.BRF;1844622 wrote:Nevermind about Austin Jackson.

Miller, Shaw, Allen, Kluber and Bauer were all eased into ST because of so many innings pitched last year. Salazar and Carrasco because of injuries. While you don't want to see ERAs that high, Mickey had them working on mechanics on the mound less than velocity, location, etc. If they were focusing on everything, it's more concerning. But, they weren't, so it's tough to judge.BRF;1844622 wrote:Nevermind about Austin Jackson.

Diaz with a 3-run jack today. I don't care about his defense, play him at 3rd while Kipnis is out.

Yandy is definitely making it hard for Tito to keep him down. At some point hitting outweighs defense, especially if it's just a short term thing.

I used to think that way too, until last year. I was rooting hard for Naquin to make the club after his sizzling spring. but by May I was holding my breath every time a ball would be hit to center. I was so glad when they sent him down. To his credit, he went down and worked on his defense, to at least the point that he was adequate defensively.Laley23;1844683 wrote:Yandy is definitely making it hard for Tito to keep him down. Still have nightmares about Naquin's WS blunders.

Brantley with another bomb today. If he's healthy, and stays healthy...this lineup is scary. Hoping they'll announce soon that he'll be in lineup Monday. I could see him playing every other day for a while.

This was day 2 of a scheduled 3 in a row. People speculating it's the final test before the season, but Tito won't outright say that. 1b/2b/bb yesterday. 1b/hr today (that was through 5).Benny The Jet;1844687 wrote:Brantley with another bomb today. Chisenhall starting the season on the DL for a week. Almonte may make the roster after all.

I am under the impression that Guyer could be a decent everyday player (hits RHP well) until Chiz is back, don't platoon him until then.iclfan2;1844763 wrote:Chisenhall starting the season on the DL for a week. Almonte may make the roster after all.

I have not seen any news on Brantley yet, but all signs point to him on the opening day roster. Great news about Diaz. And somehow Martinez keeps making it.

It would not be wise to bring him up and not play everyday. Hopefully Tito agrees with me and you.cat_lover;1844827 wrote:Good news. Now play him as much as possible.

Wow.... That's one hell of a potent offensive lineup.
