Larry Bird? Don't see his name on any top 25 scoring list.

Bird played like 7 seasons and then had major back issues.
He is the best white player ever.

Yeah, was still amazing...but only 6 truly healthy years, and completely messed up at the end.

Dirk is pretty amazing. He gets overshadowed by the other stars, but he deserves all the praise he gets. When he elevated his game to lead the mavs to a title that solidified him as a top 50 player of all time.

Dirk is truly one of the greatest players no one talks about. I mean the guy even changed the league with his one leg jumper. I've always been a huge fan of dirk. It will suck to see him go soonlike_that;1840213 wrote:Dirk is pretty amazing. He gets overshadowed by the other stars, but he deserves all the praise he gets. I remember watching him in the 1998 Nike Hoops Summit when he was relatively unknown. It was on the old Sports Channel Ohio and you could just tell there was something really unique in his game. Heck of a career.

I guess we should only use nostalgia and feelz to rate players.

Derrick Rose had a pretty good season. GOAT PG?Laley23;1840195 wrote:Bird played like 7 seasons and then had major back issues.

I don't even have Larry Bird on my top 20 list. Dirk is firmly a top 10 all time player.
He is the best white player ever in reality.

Larry Bird kind of has the Sandy Koufax treatment. If you take his top 5-6 seasons and look at the numbers, they are up there with anyone, ever. There was a 5-year stretch where he was averaging like 27/10/7 and was clearly a top 3 player in the NBA.
All-time, it's not fair to just project those numbers over 15 years instead of the 7-8 he stayed injury free. At some point, you have to credit a guy who has the longevity. It's not easy to have a 20 year career.

I'd take Duncan over Dirk but its close. Duncan could have been a strong beneficiary of having a great all time coach like Popovich whereas Dirk has had complete dogshit coaches and teammates(barring a few years).Azubuike24;1840236 wrote:How do you compare Dirk to Tim Duncan?

Okay care to use facts, evidence, logic or reason in justifying your opinion? Or is this one of those "I'm right and I don't have to prove anything" type deals that people on here love.vball10set;1840248 wrote:This
