Why won't they ever see the 1st round pick in this deal? Its top 3 protected. New Orleans will likely make it to the playoffs and if not, there is about 0 chance they land in the top 3. The pick will go to Sacramento. Also, the Kings have a top 10 protected pick for this year's draft, so they are now in full tank mode to save that. At worst they go from likely no picks in the first of this years draft to a great chance of having two in the first. They could end up trading one of these picks to land a big man to replace Cousins (Okafor,Vucevic, etc).
