As currently structured I'd agree. They add PG, different story, which is what my post was about.
Nope, just my thoughts in general. I don't think this makes the Rockets any more of a title contender. The rockets gave up a lot for CP3, and I expect it to net them nothing, solid move for the Clipps, they got a haul for a guy who was going to walk.

Also, just lol at Doc. According to twitter, CP3 was frustrated when NYK tried to trade them melo and he wouldn't do it bc it included his son.

Agreed with CoA. We'll see what PG ends up doing but there isn't much realistically the Spurs, Rockets, Celtics can do that will give them a chance against GSW.

Yeah. Utah just traded for Rubio so I doubt that's happening now.

If the Wolves land Lowry or Teague they might become a legit top 5 team.

PG to OKC. Probably only getting him for 1 year, but worth the gamble if all you have to give up is Sabonis and Oladipo.

Marc Stein already reporting Teague to Minnesota. Teague/Wiggins/Butler/Dieng/Towns is a hell of a starting 5.

Teague is trash imo. Doesn't move the needle at all, but a good starting 5. I wouldn't go as far to say this makes them a top 5 team though.

They might not have the depth to be top 5, but I think they definitely fall somewhere from 5-8 on paper. But that actually might not even put them top 5 in the west.

In my opinion its Warriors, Cavs, Spurs, Rockets as a definite top 4. After that some combo of Jazz, Thunder, Celtics, and Wolves.

If Hayward doesn't return you can take the Jazz off that list.

"Durant passed on his maximum of $34.65 million and was expected to re-sign for $31.5 million, which represents a 20 percent raise from his 16-17 salary. Now, Durant could go even lower with his salary, perhaps as low as $28 million or $25 million. Durant's decision to pass on his maximum allowable salary helped the Warriors re-sign Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston. Durant's generosity will reduce the Warriors' tax bill."

This is some bullshit.

Why? GSW could have paid them both Max deals and go into the luxury tax. He's giving the GSW's checkbook a break. It makes no sense.

He did it to help them sign other players. He has more money than he ever needs. I wish LeBron would take this approach.

He already did with the heat. He is a committee member of the NBPA (former VP), so it's kinda hard to be doing that.

With his Nike money, he could easily take less and not miss it. I get taking the max when you are young, but the guy is worth hundreds of millions of dollars. When he goes into whining mode in February that they can't make roster moves, just remember how he handled this compared to others.

Why? Because he and Curry both could have signed for 34.5 million and saved them more money than Durant taking 31.5 and Curry taking 40.

I don't get how the players are ok with this? They fight for money, then a guy takes less than max. The union should be pissed at him. They usually don't let players take significantly less than the most they were offered, unless the fit/city isn't the desired place.

Has nothing to do with that, and everything to do with maximizing your worth for thennion, and the lesser players. Durant probably didn't make any friends with this, but nobody will say it publicly. It's just not something players usually do.
