Yep. Two 1-run saves in the series. He got it done all year. "Blowing your wad" with Miller isn't even a concern, in my opinion. You go to Allen here because he's your guy.TBone14;1815782 wrote:He got it done, though. All that matters.
In golf, that why we say there isn't pictures on the scorecard. An ugly par is still a par.

If my closer closing out the Red Sox, best offense in the AL by over 100 runs, on the road constitutes sucking...then call me Monica Lewinsky because I'll suck all day.Ironman92;1815781 wrote:I know....I worry Allen might suck again, and if he did and blew the game.....
Game 2 is an unknown
But definitely best case scenario is Allen closing it out.

Noob baseball question: is this round best of 5 as well? What's the World Series?

He looked a lot more relaxed than he did against the Red Sox

This series and the World series are both best of 7.

The law firm of Kluber Miller & Allen combines to shut out the Jays.
Miller and Allen struck out 6 of the 8 batters they retired and retired 8 of 9.
TRIBE! Can't wait to be in the house tomorrow.

Where did I say he sucked? I said he was a *****, because he was clearly nervous and looked shaky. He made it interesting at the end. My point was just because he looked shaky, doesn't mean tito should pitch miller and blow his wad in game 1 of a 7 game series.TBone14;1815786 wrote:If my closer closing out the Red Sox, best offense in the AL by over 100 runs, on the road constitutes sucking...then call me Monica Lewinsky because I'll suck all day.

Well, to be fair I could've said it during that game when he was making me nervous, but that was just the emotion of the game at that time lol.TBone14;1815799 wrote:You didn't say he sucked. Somebody else did.

I said the word...it was too harsh I admit. He got the save but wasn't good with multiple walks and multiple line drives and Leon, Shaw, Young weren't the guys out scoring by 100 runs.like_that;1815798 wrote:Where did I say he sucked? Closing isn't easy and he got the job done. Looked much better tonight.

All that matters in terms of winning or losing, but ugly saves and pars can very much damage the confidence of players, manager, and fans for future games. If you don't pitch Allen in this situation tonight, you further damage confidence, so it was the right thing to use him tonight, and his performance restores all the former confidence!TBone14;1815782 wrote:He got it done, though. I know he had the big hit at Boston, but Naquin had definitely looked like a rookie this postseason. Looks really over anxious at bat, flailing

Well, you won't see Naquin until he pinch hits in the 8th with a lefty on the mound. Rajai will walk, steal second and score on a Kipnis basehit tonight.Benny The Jet;1815818 wrote:I know he had the big hit at Boston, but Naquin had definitely looked like a rookie this postseason.
