Well...the Clippers pitchers not getting it done. Colon gives up a 3 run bomb to Miggy.

Meanwhile...the Red Sox get 3.

Back your bags...destination Texas or Boston.

Looks as if he rain is going to hand the game to the Kitties....Taking on the Tigers with AAA pitching is a losing proposition.

am I the only one who doesn't want to play Detoilet in the post season? yes, we owned them during the season (with our pitching at full strength), but IMO, this just gives them extra incentive to knock us out...and that would just plain suck.

If it were between Boston, Det, or Tex...give me Detroit, not even close. I'd least want to play Boston, they're rolling, and Ortiz will have that steroid power cranked all the way up in his last post season. What's worst that happens, they catch him in November?

Do you think teams need extra incentive to win in the in playoffs? Like, they are going to try "extra hard" if we see them in the playoffs because of how this season went? And we are obviously talking about a potential ALCS series in this case and quite frankly, I'd be thrilled if we are there and will take whoever we get.

I think we matchup better with them but they have a lot of work to do. They need to catch Toronto or Baltimore...then win the playoff game (likely) on the road...then knock off Boston or Texas. Toronto and Detroit have the worst bullpens of the group fighting for the playoffs. They are going to have a hard time going deep.

need? no....but you'd be foolish to think it doesn't play into it, on both sides.

Gonna be annoying if they have to waste an off day and going to Detroit on Monday (if it keeps raining). And yea, would easily pick Detroit to play out of the other two, then Texas, then Boston.

Lol, of course I'd rather face them than Texas or Boston, but to discount them is assinine--even for a cameraman :D

Well yes, but we would face them in a 7 game series. I prefer that to both Texas and Boston, but especially Boston.

No, ALDS is 5.

But, we aren't getting the top seed. I've accepted this. At this point, I want Boston to get top seed so we avoid them as long as possible.

I don't even know why they're being talked about, as far as Cleveland and playoffs go. They have work to do just to get into the playoffs, since they're currently on the outside looking in. And if they accomplish that, they'd first have to (in all likelihood) win a road wild card game and then go against the top seed in the AL.

For Cleveland right now, it just goes down to whether they'll face Boston or Texas in the divisional series. Detroit's only relevant as a potential ALCS opponent on the tiny chance everything aligns in their favor.

* = http://www.fangraphs.com/coolstandings.aspx , which says (if reading it right) 8.6% chance of them getting through the ALDS into the ALCS.

I do think they make the playoffs. They have the Columbus Clippers and Atlanta Braves to end the year.

Baltimore has the Yankees and Toronto has Red Sox. Tigers very well may win out. The others, I doubt sweep their last opponents.

If the Indians and the Red Sox have identical 162 game records, who gets the home field advantage in the ALDS?
