So right now the rankings heading into Championship weekend are
1-Ala
2-OSU
3-Clemson
4-Wash
5-Mich
6-Wisc
7-PSU
8-Colorado
Let's pretend Clemson loses AND Washington loses. The way it's set up, there's an argument that there should be 3 B1G teams in. Will it happen? No. But, Alabama and OSU are locks. Michigan beat 6,7,and 8 behind them. They'd HAVE to be in. Then, it comes down to Colorado and the B1G champ, who let's say is Wisconsin. How could the justify jumping Colorado over the B1G champ, Wisconsin? B1G is by far the best conference, and they're already sitting 2 spots ahead. Just food for thought. I would just love to see some chaos.

I concur. Also with last year OSU was sticking in the top solely because they were winning, which is the number one thing, but all season everyone was just waiting for them to start playing great and it didnt happen. Going by the eye test they just were not impressing last year and this year Bama has been head and shoulders above everyone moreso than OSU last season.Azubuike24;1827194 wrote:Would be different if Bama dropped below a 2-loss team, but if they were still a 1-loss team, their resume would still out-pace all 1-loss teams except OSU anyway. They could justifiably drop seeds, but not really justified out of the top 4.
That really was a wasted year for the program. With all of that talent they should have easily went undefeated until the playoff and then after that...who knows.

Even I'd Kizer left and Ziare stayed I don't think he would have won the job over wimbush. Qb won't be the problem for ND. It's the guy wearing the head set that's the problemvball10set;1827123 wrote:I have to think Kizer is bolting for the NFL, so ND without an experienced QB next season? ha

Interesting article. When you look at Temple and Navy's success in the AAC, Both have been better than Tom Herman's time at Houston.

Looks like Purdue's next HC will be Jeff Brohm from Western Kentucky.

He's got an interesting career path. When Saban was hired at 'Bama he offered Brohm the OC position and Brohm turned it down to take a promotion at Louisville as the Asst HC in charge of passing.

I mean I don't like the way Les Miles ran an offense...but why don't we hear his name popping up for any of these openings? He can clearly recruit and would be a big hire. I thought a place like Purdue would be great for him. Wonder if teams are just so turned off by his stubbornness to change his offense.

Probably hoping for a better job than Purdue if he's looking for immediate work (or he could spend a year in the studio and then see what opens). I mean, going from LSU to Purdue is pretty comparable to going from a penthouse suite to a trailer without utilities.Benny The Jet;1827265 wrote:I mean I don't like the way Les Miles ran an offense...but why don't we hear his name popping up for any of these openings? It will be a weird change if that happens considering Houston had a roster recruited for the spread while Miles seemed to be a power football offensive guy at LSU.

I could see Miles going to a Houston or a Baylor if they were willing to pay him. I just don't know if the schools will be willing to see a change in football style form what they've been. It will be interesting to watch unfold.

It sure seems like stylistically Lane Kiffin would be better for both of those schools.

Man, I'd hate it if I were Houston and I went from Herman to Miles. That'd be worse than going backwards from Tressel to Urban

Devil's advocate to your point, WMU has 2 wins over P5 schools.Con_Alma;1826939 wrote:WMU has exactly 2 wins against FBS schools with winning records. 2
The committee says it values strength of schedule and quality wins because they are looking for a team that has proven itself at a high level. I don't see this in Western's body of work. Two wins against high level opponents doesn't merit the ranking they have.
Sagarin has WMU at 22, Navy 39.

disagree...both head to head and conf champ title are tiebreakers. Who's to say the committee members won't value head to head more so than a conf champ?vball10set;1827320 wrote:Spot on...no way ttun gets in...none

OU had a chance to beat WMU but threw an awful pick on the final drive.
WMU survives, 29-23, and goes 13-0.

And then another pick on the following series. Held them to a FG this time though. 24-7.wildcats20;1827333 wrote:Pick 6 for Washington to start the 2nd half.
