He would be but I am pretty sure they came out and said weeks ago he would be back next year.

Now..if they are as shitty as this season he may not make it through the season.

Notre dame hit with sanctions for academic misconduct. Vacated wins.

I'm sure they imposed a self-ban on bowl games this year, too :)

Wonder if this is another chance for the university to come back with the "Well actually...." regarding Kelly not getting fired this year. They came out saying Kelly will lead the team next year, and still lose to teams they shouldn't, fans/media demanding change, and now this.

If I was a domer supporter, I'd be less bothered by the infraction than the constant denial of any responsibility by Kelly. You run the business, Mr. Kelly, you either know or are expected to know, sometimes to the point of being unfair. Tough shit, that's part of the job.

This is a fun read RE:Kelly throwing everyone under the bus except himself

Also today this gem:

What culpability does the head coach have in this case? Brian Kelly: "Zero. Absolutely none."

I don't want to defend Notre Dame, but it frustrates me when a school catches somebody doing something, does all the investigation, fires/punishes the person who was cheating and turns things over to the NCAA and then they get hit with a penalty. That doesn't even make sense.

It does to me...you can fire/suspend who you want, but they're punishing the higher ups/university for not keeping a closer eye on their team. Just the way I see it.

He's such a douchebag--I can't believe he's even still coaching there.

They fined the university $5,000. Seriously? $5k.

He's such an awful coach. I hope they extend him for another five years or more.

Also the vacated wins is fucking retarded. The NCAA is the absolute worst.

Does it really punish the higher ups though? I guess kind of. Another great example is Pete Carroll and crew basically fuck USC for years to come. They all jump ship to the NFL and everyone who is left has to suffer. I'm sure there are players that had nothing to do with that mess and they were locked in for four years because of the actions of assholes who suffered 0 consequences. (Side note:I have a few friends who are sea hawk fans and they were all about deflate gate. Gtf out of here)

This penalty doesn't have any effect on anything other than Brian Kelly's overall win total. It doesn't hurt the program (Kelly is doing that on his own), it doesn't hurt the school, it doesn't hurt the legacy of anything. People are overreacting to them losing 21 wins. FOH.

So David Pollock said with Washington or PSU will lose Saturday. I tend to agree and think it will be PSU. I think Sparty will play like it did his last week and try to ruin the PSU season.

I agree. I'd be more confident if it weren't in Happy Valley and it were a noon kick though

It's a 3:30 kick at least.

I feel confident in sparty beating penn state. Not sure if that's because I am rooting for that to happen or if I really do think it'll happen lol.

But I have the same confident feeling I had in Louisville losing to Houston. So we'll see.
