Give the 2nd rounder from Oakland a chance....we bought that pick for a reason

According to FiveThirtyEight's value model Mozgov is projected to have $6 million worth of value over his contract, lol.

These contracts are going to make AAU coaches and dads even crazier selling their teams to young kids.

Is Mike Conley a top 30 NBA player?

Apparently the Heat offered D Wade $10 mil a year. Half of what he made this year. He's all but gone, IMO.

I don't see anything about that except articles from last year about Riley's initial offer of 10 mil to Wade.

The Heat's initial offer of $10 million annually – which would've constituted a 50 percent pay cut from his $20 million 2015-16 salary – deeply angered Wade, league sources told The Vertical. Even with the Heat planning to counter to a higher figure, league sources said, Wade has been insistent on starting to explore the market and meet with teams once he returns from an overseas vacation, league sources said.

Lakers sign Deng to a 4 year, $72 mil deal.

I don't mind either LA signing(Moz or Deng), except for the money part.

Would this be correct?...

PG-Russell/Lou Williams
SG-Clarkson/Brown
SF-Ingram/Deng
PF-Randle/Nance
C-Mozgov/Zubac

Or would they bring Clarkson off bench and start Ingram and Deng?

Rumor that NESN news ran was that Ballmer cried during the meeting with Durant?

Also...seriously, what are the Lakers doing? Deng for 72 mil?!?

This is what I have read from more than a few people in the know...fwiw

Russell/Huertas
Clarkson/Lou
Ingram/Deng/Brown
Randle/Nance
Mozgov/Black/Zubac

But I could definitely see Deng starting.

When healthy, he's considered one of the better point guards in the league and I can see a team like Memphis, which is (when healthy, ie: not like last year) an upper-tier team without a legit superstar, wanting to keep stability at that position. With that said, my reaction to the size of that contract is basically the same "say 'holy shit', chuckle and shake my head" one that I had for Moz's and Turner's. $30M/year for an upper-tier, but not elite, player is just insane.

To compare with baseball (you know, the sport WITHOUT a salary cap), Votto (former MVP) is getting $20M this year and Kershaw (injured now, but still better than Jebus) is barely making more ($33M).

I like how you said "barely" making $33 million a year.

Hard to compare the wages of each sport to one another.

And after the Pacers picked up Al Jefferson, Cowherd said they were a top 5 team in the League.

Hot takes are the worst takes.

I actually agree with him. Indiana is very good.

Cavs, Warriors, thunder (with durant), Spurs, and then pacers.

I would still put the Raps, Clippers, a healthy version of the Grizzlies and the Celtics above them.
