It doesn't matter how many rooms there are in a 45 minute radius. I can pretty much guarantee anyone going to the RNC isn't staying at a Budget Hotel or in a part of town they don't feel safe. The number of rooms that matter are 4-5 star hotels rooms in the area. If their counting a Red Roof Inn or Holiday Inn the 17,000 rooms is an inflated stat.

So you think they're saying there will be an average of three people per room? Not happening. 16000 rooms will accommodate about 30,000. im not disputing people will stay in private housing... im saying a house 45 minutes away for 1600 a night is a tough sell when there's other lodging available.

Do you really think this means what you're pretending it means, instead of just admitting you're wrong? What it means, of course, is they need that many rooms to accommodate those staying in hotels, knowing that a lot of others will be staying in private residences.

The neighbors house was already booked for $1200 a night. Another posted for $1600 (5 br, 3 bath w/ a fucking pool btw)
Zwick was amazed (dumbest thing he's ever heard), had a really fucking hard time understanding it.

Depends on what kind of lodging you're talking about. If I'm a wealthy out-of-stater who'd want to attend an event like this with like-minded friends and have money to burn, I'd pay 1600 for a house LONG BEFORE I'd look into what I'd guess would be a lot of that 17000 hotel rooms in the area. Just mentioning the number of rooms doesn't take quality into effect, as in what percentage of said rooms are 4- and 5-star establishments and what percentage are the sort of "no tell motel" where you'll be hearing fucking and drug deals going down through paper-thin walls?
