Drive the defense back, then the pitch-back to a squared up shooter for the trey that they didn't have to have that was the most open shot they were going to get that was open that much because a deuce would win. Great, great game. Made up for the semi blowouts. They were the two teams that deserved to be there with their play in the tourney.Crimson streak;1790430 wrote:What a fucking play call though

You should recognize the play. Cam Watford beat UK with it.Azubuike24;1790434 wrote:Kudos for that last play call. Too many teams try to force the ball toward the hoop and end up taking a really tough, contested 2. Nova figured their best look was just to set up a long 3, and it went in. Cost me $840 in my pool (needed UNC), but it was beautiful to watch.

Chalmers in 08 was pretty damn sweetLaley23;1790435 wrote:Great game.
I texted my buddies at about the 15 minute mark that I wanted a game winning shot. Haven't seen one since Smart and Indina, that I can recall.

what? It sent it to OT. Basically a GW would be a shot with like 17 seconds left where the other team has a shot still. That's all I'm saying. That shot didn't win a game. It tied it.SportsAndLady;1790447 wrote:It was basically a game winner lol

Decision to drive or pitch back was easy with all 5 defenders inside the trey line with no offensive players amongst them.Azubuike24;1790434 wrote:Kudos for that last play call. I'd say it felt as good as a game winner to him after being down 11? With about a minute left.Laley23;1790452 wrote:what? It sent it to OT. I literally understand that it wasn't the textbook definition of a game winner.

I was happy Nova had that span in the early 2nd half vs OK giving up 8 off rebounds in like 3 minutes because you knew that would be a main focus for Wright going up against the athletic UNC bigs. 2nd chance points weren't much of a factor.

That game was incredible. I posted on Twitter when unc got it to 7 that just give me the chance to see both teams have one last shot. And it happened. Best NC game I've ever seen. Not really even close. First true buzzer beater in a long long time.

Disagree on this being better than the Butler-Duke game. Had a similar feel as you were on the edge of your seat for both games each possession, but that one was almost literally a one possession game the entire time. Add in the whole Butler miracle run and the fact it was being played in Indy and it added up to the best title I've watched.Midstate01;1790459 wrote:That game was incredible. Honestly that tournament remains my favorite, you had the Northern Iowa upset of Kansas, Kentucky getting beaten when many considered them the team to beat, and really a ton of great games from the 2nd round on. This one however had some great dramatics and more upsets, however the Sweet 16 and on were not that special

If I remember correctly, wasn't the score hovering around 20-20 at halftime, with Butler holding a slight edge despite only 6 made baskets?Laley23;1790490 wrote:That game was close, but the shooting was horrific. That made it hard to watch.
