Brady and it's no debate. He's had essentially no star RB, only three great receiving threats throughout his tenure, and almost always delivers. IMO the year Moss came and they went undefeated was the single best year a QB ever had. They just beat everyone down that season

He's also had a fantastic owner, GM and the best coach of all time.
There is no correct answer because of these factors.

Because it's not fair to assess a players career until it is finished. What if Brady goes 0-16 over the next 2 years with a 45.0 completion % and QBR of 50? Wouldn't that affect his standing on this list? I know it's unlikely, but... if Peyton Manning's last 2 years would have been as productive as the previous 2...he'd probably be #1 and there wouldn't be much debate.Ironman92;1785190 wrote:Why not now?
It seems like the most common 6 to come up are Montana, Manning, Marino, Favre, Elway and Brady. Let's look at some stats (Bold/Underline = highest of the 6)
Montana: 63.2 Comp%, 92.3 QBR, 40,551 yards, 273 TD - 139 INT, .713 Win %, 4 Superbowl Wins
Manning: 65.3 Comp %, 96.5 QBR, 71,940 yards, 539 TD - 251 INT, .702 Win %, 2 Superbowl Wins
Marino: 59.4 Comp %, 86.4 QBR, 61,361 yards, 420 TD - 252 INT, .613 Win %, 0 Superbowl Wins
Favre: 62.0 Comp %, 86.0 QBR, 71,838 yards, 508 TD - 336 INT, .624 Win %, 1 Superbowl Win
Elway: 56.9 Comp %, 79.9 QBR, 51,475 yards, 300 TD - 226 INT, .643 Win %, 2 Superbowl Wins
Brady: 63.6 Comp %, 96.4 QBR, 58,028 yards, 428 TD - 150 INT, .771 Win %, 4 Superbowl Wins
Looking at those stats, they should probably be ranked like this:
1. Peyton Manning
2. Tom Brady
3. Joe Montana
4. Brett Favre
5. Dan Marino (Elway's only edge is Super Bowl wins and less INTs)

Brady very well could pass Manning, or slip, if he plays another 2-4 years.

It's top 5 QB's of all-time....that's the thread.....from the beginning of football to the present.
Did Willie Mays sucking his last two seasons affect where he's ranked?
