Three of the last four holdouts have been taken into custody. The one from Ohio is reneging on the deal, losing his mind, talking about feeling suicidal, and declaring war on the U.S.

Seems about even chances of suicide, coming out shooting, or surrender.

These are some people's notion of modern-day "patriots"?

Pretty much. Both groups are the answer to "What is the end result of under-education in a society?".

I think wack jobs like this have always been around. Unfortunately we live in a day when we have to hear all about it.

Generally speaking, and in the grand scheme, would you gents align yourselves with those who favor less government intrusion, or with those favoring BIG government and bureaucrats managing much of our lives?

Generally speaking, and in the grand scheme, I prefer not to align myself with morons, so that takes Y'all Queda out of the equation.

How about the absurd notion that recognizes that government can't solve all issues nor should they try, but there are issues in which government can make a net positive impact? The fringe idiots at the extreme 5% on both sides of the spectrum are just that, idiots, and are dangerous in approximately equal amounts.

Well, some of these Meal Team Six dipshits could have less government in their lives by keeping their animals on their land, and not land that belongs to all of us. Or pay the fucking fees. Their choice.

These inbred, mouth-breathers are not patriots, the founders would be embarrassed that some try to equate them in any measure.

That is a false premise. The alternatives aren't just Ayn Rand and Big Brother. There is a place for government to promote the greater good that private markets would not otherwise. I don't believe government should decide my life for me, however I would never entrust the good of society into the hands of corporate citizens.

PS --- it is nice to see the Feds protect the land; I wonder when they will start protecting it along the Mexican border?

I'd have to say you're wrong. After all, now that the St. Louis thread has been bumped back up, it's really easy to find out what Quaker's opinion is of loud thugs taking over areas in order to protest perceived slights. And, of course, you wouldn't expect him to have contradictory values, where he flip-flops his opinion based on minor details, now, would you?
