We use the tap water. Wife says she can tell a difference in taste. She also uses cream, sugar, and milk. So does not measure these out. I drink my coffee without anything in it, and I can't tell. So...

Pretty much...I live in Sebring. Same thing. Guess the only perk is that I have 10 cases of "free" bottled water in my garage. That's what's been going in the Keurig for the last week or so.

...we use bottled water to make coffee in the Keurig at home & hit Speedway or Dunkin in the AM on my way to work. I have no idea what type of water they use but it usually tastes good.

not a scientist, but don't you want the minerals that distilled water removes?

No
Creates a mineral build up in the coffee machine, is not like a salad where you want the different spices (minerals) to add to the flavor of the lettuces what you want is the pure flavor of the coffee. The hotter the water also bring out the flaver of the coffee bean...
hope this helps ..

My loaded coffee snob friend begs to differ.

Chemex, Blue Bottle = rocket fuel.

I get my water directly from the sink.

the use of purified distilled water and a dash of NaCl removes the bitterness of the beans

I should have said poor and stupid. They are correlated but in your example they seem to deviate.

Why carry inventory of a product and expend the effort to make the perfect cup when you can just pay someone else(who does it for a living) to do all the work for you?

Sleeper is right... only poor people brew their own coffee... I can't afford a barista to have my coffee ready when I roll out of bed in the morning. :(

Take your coffee throw it in the trash and drink the water. Coffee might be the worst drink ever.

So spending $5 twice a year on a big lottery jackpot is dumb but paying $5 a day for coffee is sensible?
