Well once again, I didn't play so I "won" money. My "$2"(because Lord knows you dropped more than that on each drawing) is now being invested at a 7% annual return.

Hope poverty is working well for you guys.

You don't need an engineering degree to know that $.14 > -$2

Depends how you measure utility and opportunity cost.

Is there more utility in spending $2 to buy a 1 in 292M chance to become super rich vs. spending $2 on a cup of coffee?

To those that would respond, "well the $2 spent to dream about winning the lottery is worth the money"; how does it feel when you lose and realize none of what you are dreaming about will come true?

Anyways, I'll be a millionaire in 2 years. So enjoy!

Do you buy the most economical brand of everything you can find? If not, you're wasting way too much potential investment money!

You're not worth explaining anything to. It's much easier to just call you narrow-minded and move on.

I spent $4, I won $4. Whether I won nothing or a small amount, it wouldn't even register a blip on my overall net worth. If that's the sort of thing that constitutes poverty, you must look at generic Spam as a holiday special sort of meal.

I spent 2 and won 4 (only got the powerball). I increased my investment 100% in one day compared to Sleepers 7% in one year. On track to be a millionaire by tonight instead of 2 years!
