Maybe the NFL should go to a FG kicking contest or who can throw the ball the longest?
Rodgers is winning that last one

Because the two are not even remotely similar.

The closest you'll ever get to perfect is playing out an entire quarter for OT. The players would likely never agree to it, the networks would likely fight it too, and at least in the regular season you'd likely have way more ties so long as those exist.

Does not understand differences between NFL & NHL possession sequence, importance, and how who possesses the object first is determined.

I like ihslep or sonofumps approach on OT. I would lean toward sonofumps approach and force them from the beginning to go for 2 if they score a TD.

Any of these work...
lhslep134;1776146 wrote:At least in regards to overtime, ensure the other team touches the ball even if the team who gets the ball first scores a TD. Then if Team 2 scores a TD to tie, it "resets" meaning there's another coin flip and the rules start again: even if Team 1 scores a TD Team 2 gets a chance to tie. All other overtime rules are the same. For example if Team 1 kicks FG Team 2 can win with TD or if Team 1 turns it over Team 2 wins with FG.

Imagine basketball saying, in OT the winner is the first team who scores a FG. But, teams have the chance to make free throws back and forth. Never happen, because it's dumb. What about baseball extra innings...first team to score wins -- better hope you ain't the home team by chance -- or coin flip to see who bats first. Lousy OT rules. Terrible decision/planning of the setup.

Crazy fun game already

Ball blows over on kickoff, 60+ yard run, fumble, TD

Carolina doesn't seem to be having trouble with the field... quit making excuses for the Seahawks. They're getting their ass kicked, period.

Thinking it gets to a one score game. Not sure if Seattle can come back and tie it or win though.

If Seattle scores here. It's a real game.
