Not positive of the scores (we had the junior high wrestling at the same time and an injury to a North Union youth caused a major delay), but we lost both duals. I think we lost to North Union (solid team, top to bottom!) 65-15?? I think we lost to Mt. Gilead (6 forfeits) although we won 4 of 6 actual matches 48-30??
Congrats to Namar Tucker (138) and Delonte Myers (152) on going 2-0!
Eric Shaw (145) and Calvin Haynes (182) went 1-1.
Shawn Mayo (106) received 2 forfeits.
Proud of the guys who continue to embrace the grind and get better each and every day! : thumbup:

I got no secrets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tyler Thompson is looking to make scratch at 113 this week or next, easy top 4 at 113.
Jose Quirroz will be wrestling at 145 in the near future, so his ranking at 160 is not accurate (has been weighing in at 152 and we wrestle him up from time to time.
Marroquin @ 132 is making the decent to 120, beware of the Guatamalan Juggernaut!
TJones, had my JV 106 shown up last night, we would have taken a forfeit at 113 and won the dual, dems da city league breaks do!
FYI Silverthorn from South is Tyler Silverthorn's little brother.
MAY THE ODDS BE IN EVERYONE'S FAVOR, AND MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU, AS WE APPROACH THE END OF THE COUNTDOWN FOR THE ENDING OF THIS ACADEMIC QUARTER.

I had Thompson in parenthesis on my paperwork at 113, lol! Saw you switched Deem & Quirroz, but figured Deem was the better of the two. Marroquin would be pretty good IF he gets to 120!Fatmanroll>Peterson;1773866 wrote:I got no secrets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are hoping to get a few guys back after grades and have a transfer that will soon become eligible, but the IF factor weighs heavily at the Puncher Dome!! More accurate rankings will come out after Jan 20th duals! : thumbup:

It's hilarious how some in the city try to hide and be elusive with posting results and accurate lineups! As if it really matters, the decisions will happen on the mat, so why hide?? :RpS_lol:
The OCC (any other league for that matter) doesn't operate like that, but I guess that's why "we" can never shed the "city league" stigma!

From what I've seen 6 schools will all be at Grandview Heights this weekend so that should give us a better ideal of the kids and what weights they will be at. I look at rankings two different ways. I don't think that the same team will win both Championships this year. You guys know the deal if you have a full line up you can win a dual against a smaller line up. I realize that the top teams have full or close to full line ups which can win a dual. The question is how many kids that get FF in a dual can score points in a tournament? The way it looks to me is who will be on what line and make it to the finals. That 11 or 13 point semi win is worth a lot in a tournament. Maybe after this weekend a new ranking will come out. I heard a little birdie say that the forces behind "In Side The City League Circle" are meeting up at the GH tournament. I wish everyone the very best this weekend.

not on baumspage, here are all the teams participating:
Africentric
Briggs
Danville
Delaware Hayes
Franklin Heights
Grandview Heights
Independence
Marion Franklin
Ridgedale
South
West
West Muskingum
Westland
I am assuming that it is Delaware Hayes B Team? If not then I see them taking the tournament, if it is their B Team, then Westland or Danville.

Yes. Their "A"s will be at Orange this weekend, and even there many of the horses will be resting due to points.Fatmanroll>Peterson;1774113 wrote: I am assuming that it is Delaware Hayes B Team? If not then I see them taking the tournament, if it is their B Team, then Westland or Danville.

West finished 5th out of 12 at the Grandview Heights tournmaent. Westland took the tournament, Grandview was the runner up, West Muskingum, and Franklin Heights finished 3rd and 4th.
Amadi Bakari took 1st @106
Michael Cruz took 3rd @ 126
Phillip Thompson took 3rd @ 182
Austin Sable took 2nd @ 195
Dawson Shaw took 2nd @ 285
Lifnny Marroquin certified at 120, going 2-2 on the day, dropping a tough loss to the Marion Franklin kid 13-12 to advance for 3rd.
Eryn Fleruival certified at 285 today, beat our 3rd heavyweight, got pinned by Poeschal, and then got DQ'd and tossed when wrestling the Grandview kid. (so he will be sitting out the next two points) We will be wrestling off a few weight classes AFTER grades next week, heavyweight being one of them.
Didn't get alot of the other school's finishes, I think the only other city league 1st place finish was Tyler Poeschal from Briggs at 285, I think Indy had a 2nd at 170, and Briggs had a 2nd @ 220. There were a few other 3rd and 4ths from everyone else.

Assuming Indy's 170 was Brown and Brigg's 220 was Green.
Africentric have any kids do anything?
MF have anything other than 120 (Lloyd??)?
Congrats & thanks for info! : thumbup:

A few kids at different weights, but otherwise, pretty much as expected. The duals on the 20th will give a very clear picture of each team! : thumbup:80baby;1774707 wrote:These results should shake up the rankings. I saw three kids in one weight go 1-2 with each other.

Teams at Licking Heights: Briggs, Marion Franklin, Mifflin, and Walnut Ridge. Two of the top projected teams might get o face off at some point this weekend. Just looking ahead we have the first duals on the 20th and there's going to be quite a few teams at The Bruins Invitational Tournament on the 23rd. Then we'll have team duals II on the 28th. We should have an good ideal of ind rankings by then. I still don't see the same team winning both titles this year. Like I said before its all about the placement on the bracket.

We have a couple guys nursing injuries and are hoping to add a few guys next week, so we won't be at full strength this weekend. I am, however, interested to see what MF and WR brings to the table as I haven't seen them yet! : thumbup:80baby;1775357 wrote:Teams at Licking Heights: Briggs, Marion Franklin, Mifflin, and Walnut Ridge. I still think Whetstone is the team to beat in both formats (dual/tournament), but there are a number of dominoes yet to fall that could impact that mindset (WR: is Ayers/Crosky wrestling & if so, how do they handle the log jam at 152-182??; W: do they get everyone where they want them and fill a full/almost full lineup??; M: same as West??; WH: do they fill a full lineup and perform when the lights are brightest??; Can anyone else (BR, MF, C) make at run at a top 3 finish??
Time will tell!!!! : thumbup:

He just messaged me the following:
Aikens is 152, they havea new 182 IFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF he makes grades.
Malik Adams is 160, and Roundtree transferred to Marion Franklin.
