Tomorrow is the big day. I'm leaning towards wanting to trade down to middle of the round, get a 2nd, and take Treadwell. Also seeing Conklin as a trade down target as well. Dolphins at #13 are one of the teams talking about trading up.

Any chance Browns take a chance on Jaylon Smith with 1 of their 3rds? Not like we're in championship mode right now, he could pan out to be a steal IF he can come back healthy in '17.

I was wondering where he might go, maybe early 4th round.

I doubt smith will ever be as good as he once was. I'd pass on him. Yes we have extra picks but we didn't make trades to get extra picks to make on huge question mark players like smith.

He'll go to the patriots or some team that can afford a boom or bust pick.

I'm seeing a lot of buzz about the Browns taking Zeke Elliot. Not sure I would like that at all but it would at least give us a playmaker on offense (if he pans out). We'll see

Fuck that noise. Trich all over again. If these guys are truly analytical guys they won't draft a rb in the first round. Hopefully they are trying to gain interest for zeke to trade down again.

Agree 100% here, no thanks on Smith.

Agree 100% with this as well. No fucking thanks. I'm prob in the minority, but I think Crow/Duke is a pretty solid 1-2 combo. Remember how Duke would have a big 1st halfonly to disappear in the 2nd? Hopefully Jackson doesn't allow that BS to continue.

I like Zeke but not as our #1 pick unless we trade down into the late 20's and he's still there(he won't be).

An analytics guy might look at the Todd Gurley pick by St. Louis last year and think it was a very good pick and good value to get the offensive ROY at 8.

I'm not saying I agree with it, but from an analytics standpoint I could see Zeke being an option.

Just say no to 1st round running backs.

Long-term investment wise, you would have to think the numbers favor never taking a RB in RD1. Even if you get a top 5 RB for 3-5 years, is it better than taking a solid LT for 12-15 years? An argument could be made for the latter regardless of the talent.

I feel like this is correct. The dolphins want him pretty bad I guess...could be trying to trade with us to grab him.

I would gamble a 4th-5th on Smith. But I always prefer the high reward possibilities in the 2nd half of the draft. Loved the Ifo pick, wanted them to take Burfict, etc

But I don't know if the analytics back that up. Would be curious to know the average career length of a 4th rounder, what percent ever make a pro bowl, how many games the average player starts (outside of special teams)

Actually no, I would say getting a solid LT for 12 yrs is better than a RB for 3.

Smith was a consensus top 10 player in this draft (many had top 5). Formerly #1 player in the country as a HSer. I would take him in the 3rd at some point. Worth it, IMO.

But he might not be there. Schefter Tweeted today Smith could go as high as 2nd round and doubts he lasts past the 3rd.

Agreed and it's not like he is some bum with a bad work ethic. The dude is one of the hardest working players you will find. There is no doubt he will come back from this injury nearly 100% it's not a matter of if but when. It could be this year, next year, 2 years from now.

Lol there's no way you can say with 100% certainty that someone will be able to fully recover from a severe knee injury with bad nerve damage.

Yeah, no way I would say he will for sure be back at 100% or whatever.

However, I do think it's worth a flyer. I've also always been a fan of top recruits who pan out as top NFL picks. Shows they don't get complacent to some extent.

Cleveland Browns: League sources expect the Browns to consider Jack Conklin from Michigan State at pick No. 8 as they try to replace Mitchell Schwartz. The Browns were "in love" with Myles Jack, according to a scout employed with the team this past season, but that may have changed with new information regarding his knee. A scout still employed with the team believes the Browns will be active in moving up and down the board, but the scout says the priority will be on defense.

This would irritate the shit out of me. Let Top RT in football, an all pro, walk and use a PREMIUM resource to replace him when he went signed at a below market rate. If you want a RT so fucking bad, either stop playing penis flickers with Schwartz's contract (franchise him) or trade back, get some picks and take Decker.
