I think Austin would be a pretty good HC. BUT I'm going with my own unpopular pick, Jim Tressel. I want him with the Browns. Guy gets his guys to play hard and believe they are better than they even are. I think he'd command a respect that others don't.

Haslam's already fired three coaches and three GMs since buying the team from Randy Lerner in 2012. The only chance to get a winning coach will be picking somebody on nobody else's list...

Like take a chance on Tom Herman, the Houston (college) head coach.

He's waiting for a better job in the middle of the state.

The search consultant Hughes they brought in seems to be the real deal. Don't get the coach before the GM thing though.
If the Johnny stuff is true you have to get a qb. And whoever mentioned kaepernick hell no. Don't want chip either. Couldn't even use Murray correctly

Per Albert breer "Browns' situation is fluid, but planned structure has personnel chief reporting to EVP Sashi Brown, coach reporting to owner Jimmy Haslam." I don't get it

The way they have structured this (head coach selecting his own GM) reeks of a Chip Kelly hire. Gase might be a little more receptive now that Joe Banner is gone.

As usual, this is so ass backwards, although I have heard a lot of positive things about Sashi Brown. I just don't think he should have the final say on the roster.

I know it's not the case but it's almost like Haslam is trying to sabotage them with this stupidity.

I was thinking the same thing.

I didn't think it was possible to have a worst first round than t-rich/weeden, but gilbert/manziel might just surpass them. What makes it even worse was both drafts were loaded with talent. SMFH.

At least Trich got us a 1st round draft pick(albeit, got us Manziel). Manziel/Gilbert, I'd be happy with a bag of chips.

I would make Johnny play out his deal here rather than give him the satisfaction of going to Dallas where he can be a star for Jerry.

I am more convinced than ever this has been an orchestrated act on his part, because no one can possibly be as stupid as he has been.

It's just embarrassing how you can whiff that badly with 2 first round picks in two loaded draft classes.

If they keep him, I wouldn't let him "play", period. Let him rot on the bench. If they do trade him, see if there's a team who needs a QB, that is the equivalent of Siberia, and trade him there. If possible, put a clause in the trade that says that team can't turn around and trade him to Dallas. Fuck that schmuck. I don't know the details but I'm wondering if it's possible that he faked concussion like symptoms to avoid playing yesterday.

I would have been ok with just hiring personnel from any FO in the AFC North. These teams obviously know what the fuck they are doing. Even if they have a down year, you know they will be back the following season. At the very least hiring their staff would make them a little weaker.

You are delusional to think Manziel will be a star anywhere. He's terrible, period.

I know, "hindsight" but Derek Carr would've looked a helluva lot better than Manziel
