Seeing a few mocks with them taking Bosa. Mocks I saw said Lynch & Goff can definitely be franchise QB's but not worthy of the #1 overall. Personally with the talent core being as low as it is, i'm drafting anything but QB this year, as none of the top prospects scream can't miss. Give Manziel the job this offseason, and for next year. Maybe he pulls it together, maybe it's a total shit show, and we can pick high again next year.

Draft the Best defender available, that fits the scheme of the Head coach, and go from there, which means don't take Bosa and try and turn him in to an outside linebacker.

Hopefully the new GM values the skill positions a little more, and we can grab a playmaker in the 2nd round, and then draft BPA from that point on. Don't worry about drafting for need, draft for talent.

Yeah come on HR. At least the Browns have a line that can pass block for said future rookie QB.

If any franchise has ever deserved a #1 pick for a QB, it's the Browns. If they get it, and draft a D lineman, we don't deserve to win.

Normally, I'd agree with this, however from all the scouting reports i've seen, is that Neither Goff, or Lynch are sure fire Franchise QB's. And neither one will be ready to play next season.

A QB will emerge, it's early. There WILL be a good QB in this draft. How many drafts recently haven't had a franchise QB in it? I'm not talking Andrew Luck, I mean a QB that you can build off--for example, 2014, Blake Bortles. He's no Andrew Luck, but he's someone Jax can build around, and have built around. Maybe 2013, if you don't like EJ Manuel.

I've honestly never disagreed with someone more than I do right now with you. Wasting the #1 overall pick on anyone other than a QB would set this franchise back another 10 years.

You are crystal clear on your stance...just wondering the 10 year comment. And not being an ass but if you are so adamant on finding a great guy to build around at QB then why not take the best available QB in each of the first 3 rounds?

I'm putting most of the blame there on McCown. He holds on the ball too fucking long and takes way too many costly sacks. This is the same shit we thought when weeden was our QB. We thought the line regressed then all of a sudden Hoyer is playing and the sacks magically disappeared. An oline can only do so much for a QB who holds onto the ball way too long.

Who is the sure fire QB coming out next year? I don't get the "sure fire" argument. In the last 10 years how many "sure fire" QBs did we have coming thru the draft? I can only think of Luck and maybe Winston, but even he wasn't getting the same love as Luck. Lynch and Goff may not be NFL ready from day 1, but neither are 95% of the QBs who are drafted. We aren't drafting a QB expecting him to go from 2-14 to a playoff season the following year. Carr wasn't NFL ready last year, but playing last season paid off for this season so far.

Well yeah, that would be great. But that isn't reality.

They'd probably go 6-10 next year, with an easier schedule, and draft 11 overall. And have to take another QB at 22.

Valid point, admittedly I've not watched much of either guy, going by what the so-called experts have said.

The NFL is littered with QBs who were looked at as pro caliber but far from locks. Just in the last few drafts...

Bortles
Marriota and Winston (depending on who you ask)
Carr
Tannehill
Osweiler
Wilson
Dalton
Bradford
Flacco
Stafford (honestly don't recall the buzz on him, maybe he was considered sure fire)
Cutler
Rogers
Smith
Orton

Thats the last 10 years. There are also PLENTY of busts taken in the 1st two rounds. But there are ALWAYS guys worth taking. It's just the Browns have been uncanny at finding the wrong ones...2007 and 2013 are the only years I'd consider to not have a QB who was sure fire nor a QB who panned out as a possibility. I guess 2013 is still a bit early, but looking bad.

Stafford was pretty high on most boards I thought
