Just my observation. How often do you see a mid-tier school walk-on, who had 3 offers (Rice, Florida Atlantic and Washington State), transfer to an elite school, win the starter job by attrition and win a national title?
I have my doubts. Could be wrong, but I'm skeptical.
Comparing him to Tom Brady is stupid. Does every backup QB who comes into a big moment get compared to Brady? How many have failed since Brady?

I'm not comparing him to tom Brady. I'm comparing what you're saying about the Oklahoma QB to what people said about tom Brady.Azubuike24;1772181 wrote:Just my observation. I get that. But that situation has happened hundreds or even thousands of times since Tom Brady...and there's only one Tom Brady.
Even Cardale Jones had a miracle 3-game run, but we saw what he truly was this year.
My prediction is Mayfield, even if they beat Clemson, will be in for a rude awakening against Bama or MSU's defense.

Why is there a massive section of empty seats right behind the Clemson bench? Did anyone else see that?

I don't understand why people are shocked by this outcome (Not here....Twitter/FB).
As SL said, Big Game Bob, was destined to blow this.

Gutsy, scrappy play, but Mayfield is NOT big time. Ever thinking he could lead a team to a title is a joke. He tries to be a lot more than he is and has thrown 2 critical INT's. He thinks he's Johnny Manziel but he lacks the talent, the speed and the arm.
Going to be very curious if Clemson can run the ball against the MSU or Bama fronts.

Bama's defense is better than Sparty's defense.

These teams look like they blow, but I guarantee Clemson isn't going to be able to just run the read option and dominate either one. Clemson is similar to OSU, and look at how much OSU struggled against MSU.
Cook throwing that INT there when a FG was almost a lock is a game-killer.

Could just say the same on the Big XII. He did most of his damage against some really leaky defenses. Has the Big XII had a true contender that has shown superior since Texas in '05? Seems like these big time games the Big XII usually gets waxed.SportsAndLady;1772208 wrote:Good call on Mayfield

I had the impression Cook threw it right where he wanted, trying to sneak it past the defender right over his head! MSU receivers not getting much separation.wildcats20;1772215 wrote:I mean it was a good play by Jones, but yeah. Horrible throw.
