It was November 10th, 2102. A & M was 7-2 led by diminutive frosh quarterback, Johnny Manziel. Going into Tuscaloosa against 9-0 Alabama. A team that would send 9 defensive people into the NFL draft over the next 2 seasons. A team that had 4 shutouts during the season, and a team that won the national title game against an undefeated Notre Dame team...42-14.
So how did the eventual Heisman trophy winner do?
24-31..2 touchdowns, no picks. 258 yards. Oh...and he blistered Bama's defense with his feet too for 98 yards on 14 carries. Bunch of jump balls to Mike Evans right?
Evans had 5 catches and a some dude named Ryan Swope caught 11 balls for 111 yards.
And all the "experts" have labeled Johnny a bust.
Check in Johnny bashers. LMAO.
