This year alone, Ingraham found 43 instances of someone being shot by someone 3 years old or younger. In at least 31 of those cases, a toddler discovered a gun and actually shot themselves, the report continued.

I suppose the big issue here is simple gun education. Anyone with a brain should know to always keep them in places (and shut away) where small children can't get their hands on them. Many people have inadequate brains. And some of those people have guns.

As far as the topic, I agree with Heretic. I'm "pro gun, anti-stupidity." Don't leave a gun where a toddler can get to it = don't get shot. Pretty simple.

3-2-1. If you're a gun owner and don't have a gun safe or a gun locker .... You should not own a weapon.
If you're a gun owner and don't follow simple safety precautions at home or carrying ... That just wrong.

i love this type of reporting because it's narrow minded reporting...

Blame the legalized owner, blame the safety minded gun owner, blame the good citizen who owns a weapon.

does this report cover all the facts?

how many of those children under the supervision of an adult, parents or living with relationship ...
Where felons, who should not be gun owners? Gun Control does not apply to criminals, they will get their guns illegally.
Career criminal, drug dealer or users the reason they had a gun?

How many of those adult supervision individual had legal CCW, up to date certification CCW?

without knowing the type of owner those guns where in possession of is a meaningless report.
this reporter left out the most important fact the quality of ownership. Hope this helps

Gosh a ruddies so true. Excellent suggestion Mr. Belly. We need an government agency to go into gun owners home and check if they have a gun safe or gun locker and if it is properly used. If not the guns should be seized.

Your first and last points are the same.

Presumably, those responsible for allowing these children access to guns have broken one or more laws. Have most or all of them been prosecuted? That seems to be the logical next discussion point.

If these parents had pit bulls less toddlers would be around to commit these killings.

If only their were background checks at gun shows these kinds of tragic accidents could be prevented.

Still not reply to the type of individuals where the gun owners.. Felons, single parent, live in career criminals, what ethic, unemployment status..... This is part of the facts that are missing... What if 50% of those kids where from single parents, should we lock up dead beat moms or dads... what if 40 % of those kid where from Asian parents.... Should we ban Asians

If the facts indicate that four of the kids deaths was because of the lack of safety precaution should we let those parents run for school board president?
