So my new house is about a quarter mile from where Time Warner stops so I cannot get cable/broadband internet which means until they do(6 months to a year or until more houses are built in our subdivision) I will be relegated to slower speeds and data caps. So goodbye netflix/hulu/ and Amazon prime.

Anyone here use dish or Direct Tv for internet? Or any other internet provider? No cable options available.

I'm in a similar situation. Time Warner stops just down the road from me and I don't know if they will ever come this far. I use verizon home fusion. I have 30G of data, but it still sucks being capped. I work from home though and it's decently fast. Satellite is terrible with a vpn connection.

You guys are lucky. Time Warner is the absolute worst. Do what Monty said... check if Uverse is available in your area. You won't regret it. Uver > Time Warner by far.

No u verse. Only options are Satellite providers which are around 10MBps and 30-50GB a month compared to 50mbps and unlimited.

Time Warner said they could build out to my house from current line for only 15-20k. They advised getting neighbors involved to split the cost.

Needless to say, I'll wait. I did sign up for Direct Tv for Tv purposes. Still shopping internet providers. Going to try Hughesnet
