I agree the committee revealed itself as being Southern Fried, Rebel Flag Waving, Sheet Wearing, Red Necks by letting AL at this juncture anywhere near the top 6. If the Tide continues to run the table OK I might think they are worthy but letting them in now only tells us the committee is going to find a way to get SEC teams into the playoffs come hell or high water.

If Baylor were to win out (which I don't think they will), they'll have wins over #15, #14, and #8 (as of right now) and would probably jump Notre Dame and be in. The clearer message, in my mind, is that the CFP Committee really thinks the SEC is the best conference and it's not even close in their mind.
Probably a product of group think and not reality. The SEC is overrated. I hope we get their champion in Game 1 of the semi finals and then blow out ND in the Championship game.

Only thing that it shows me is that they want to hype the fuck out of Saturday's game.

How about Memphis? They beat the team that beat Alabama, are unbeaten and ranked 13th.

They are a fun team to watch.

Remember...tOSU was 16th in the first poll last year. There's a lot of movement to be done before we get to the playoffs.

Lol I'm not sure we disagree. :) Aren't you saying they're fucked?

Shit, this is the second time I've agreed with Tiernan today. The end is near

Given the games this weekend, next week's rankings are going to be the true telltale sign.

These are pretty worthless rankings as we learned last year. It will come down to winning your conference championship game so unless tons of craziness happens you will only see 1 team at most from each conference. That will eliminate OSU/MSU Ala/LSU Baylor/TCU/Ok.

After OSU beats UM and MSU, they will be ranked #1. I don't see any other team being undefeated at the end of the year other than OSU anyway.

Do you think Memphis loses?

Notre Dame at # 5 is a bigger joke than Alabama at #4. Of the top 10 teams, other than Iowa who does ND beat head to head? No One. I have no problem with Clemson being #1 for now but they have only 1 more chance to get a quality win this season (which would give them only 2) so by the end of the year an unbeaten team out of the BIG 12 will have a much better resume than Clemson, who if they would happen to lose a game would be out.

I should have stated any relevant team. Memphis is not relevant.

Who cares really? ND has no chance of winning a championship.

I'd argue they are as relevant as Notre Dame, to the discussion.

I'll throw this out there too. Sagarin SOS rankings...

84. Memphis
104. Baylor

As I posted a week ago...why is Baylor relevant and Memphis isn't?

Easy. Because Baylor after this week plays Oklahoma and then travels to Oklahoma State and TCU. Winning those games makes them much more relevant

I want to see Ohio State get in and win. I don't care if they play Sun Belt teams every year.

Big 12 vs AAC. Simple as that.

Memphis plays Houston, Navy and Temple twice.

Their SOS will end up very similar to Baylor.

Why would conference affiliation matter at that point?

Lol for the love of god, this!

STFU about Memphis. Their only good win this season will be ole miss and is that even a good win? Ole miss is not very good.

Edit: and I guess Houston. But again, Houston is a decent team but it's not like they went into Death Valley and beat LSU. It's Houston and Ole miss.

Memphis blows. I think even ND could beat them and ND is terrible.
