Purchasing a new cooler this week. A little present to myself. Thinking I'm gonna get a Yeti Tundra 75. Does anyone have one? My wife and I have the Yeti Rambler glasses and those things are awesome. I know there are a lot of different brands out there as far as "Top quality" coolers go. Does anyone have another brand? Pelican,Orca etc???? My old Colemans and igloos just don't cut it anymore.

I've only had experience with Yetis and they are definitely the truth, but the price is insane.
Grizzly is another brand I've heard good things about. Also expensive.

Yeah I've seen the Grizzy as well. They all look nice. Something just tells me if I'm gonna spend the cash, the Yeti is the top dog.

Just don't see the need of a yeti. I thought about buying one as well, but unless you are camping for days without ice, a Coleman extreme or other middle of the road brand will keep ice frozen all day. Plus the yetis are so small on the inside.
Edit to add: they are pretty sweet though. I think I woulda bought the grizzly one if I actually pulled the trigger.

I just spent the past week in Florida with some friends and spent a lot of time on her boat. She has 2 yetis and they were definitely worth it. One for beer/food and one for fish.

Living in Florida a good cooler is a necessity. I have a Pelican and a Yeti, each hold ice for the same amount of time but are far superior to the run of the mill igloos and coleman's. There is only one way to pack a cooler to hold ice for ridiculous amounts of time, more ice and minimal drinks /food consuming energy. If your ice is "melty" when it enters any cooler the faster it will dissipate. Chill your drinks before you put them on ice, with that said, we can keep things cold for one weekend with a 20# bag of ice something the run of the mill cooler can't even come close to. The reality is how often and what ambient temps you will use the cooler. Will your $300 cooler save you enough money to pay for the ice that you would consume in a less expensive cooler?

35 years ago I bought 3 coke cole cooler, metal, red and heavy. When the wife and I would go sailing 24 foot ODay on Lake Erie for the weekend ... Packed each of them up with ice, beer, wine and food would last all weekend.
Still have then someplace but now they are a plain in the ass to carry loaded up. I think we where strong back in those days.
I don't know what I have now but it all about having wheels .... Everything is secondary

Drink your beer fast enough and you dont need a cooler that keeps ice for days!

The only yeti you shouldn't buy is the soft yeti. And it works perfectly but it's $300 and no soft cooler is worth that. I have a 75 and it's legit.

I got a Coleman Extreme and some dry ice and it kept my food frozen for five days during Firefly music Festival this year.

Says the person who doesn't have $399 of expendable income! i.e. poorMontyBrunswick;1747452 wrote:$399 for a cooler is too much money.
I'm very financially responsible, so much so I can afford to buy a nice cooler that will last forever.
