Why?BR1986FB;1787408 wrote:And we'd probably see a lot more games like this from Love if he were the second instead of the third option. Unfortunately, he got paid a boatload of money and people remember how he performed in Minnesota when he was a one man show. If it's just him & Kyrie, he probably does put up at least 20 & 10 a night but then you'd have no Lebron.

I'm guessing the logic is that with Love being the #1 on Minnesota, he put up those kinds of numbers and if he was the #1 or even the #2 nightly in Cleveland, he probably would do the same thing. But since he's the #3, he doesn't get the offensive focus to do so consistently (especially since then, he relies on his very inconsistent 3 way too much), and so his stats are diminished, which leads to "/sleeper".Ironman92;1787409 wrote:Why?

Pretty much. If you look at Chris Bosh's numbers (being the third wheel) from when he was the man in Toronto to third option in Miami, he dropped from 22-24 ppg to roughly 16.5 ppg. Last year, with Lebron gone, he jumped back up to 21 ppg (granted, he only played 44 games). Even Bosh's rpg jumped slightly. The same would likely happen with Love's numbers if it were just he & Kyrie as the scoring focal point.Heretic;1787434 wrote:I'm guessing the logic is that with Love being the #1 on Minnesota, he put up those kinds of numbers and if he was the #1 or even the #2 nightly in Cleveland, he probably would do the same thing. This has been beaten to death but it had to be expected that his numbers would drop with KI & LBJ on the floor. I'm not going to say he hasn't been a bit of a disappointment though.
Kevin Love isn't "garbage" or a "bad" player. He's just not the focal point of the Cavs offense like he was previously.

We just all know everyone's thoughts on Love. No one is going to change their stance.

Just my own opinion and it's probably not the popular one, but I'd stick with Love moving forward and get rid of Irving this offseason.

If the national media doesn't have a negative cavs story, the local media will!! Haynes writes a story about players not liking Irving not passing but doesn't have a quote, of course. And doesn't say anyone said anything off the record. Sure this is great for the locker room.

Irving is on the hot seat as well. He's more talented than Love but he doesn't seem to fit the team well either.Automatik;1787452 wrote:Just my own opinion and it's probably not the popular one, but I'd stick with Love moving forward and get rid of Irving this offseason.
The other nice thing about Kyrie is we would get some solid offers. He's a young player on a reasonable contract and is a top PG in the league.

Good grief is this team (lebron ) full of drama. Isn't there anyone on that team that will check him and tell him to quit being an idiot and doing stuff that's going to be a distraction and bring drama to the team? Jones, Jefferson, front office? Gets pissy and walks out of interviews last night after a 30pt win.

At this point, don't really care what he does. He unfollows the Cavs on Twitter along with Austin Carr, a couple of other Cavs reporters and that Lee Jenkins dude who actually wrote that coming home article. I think this is just a way for him to block out all of the outside things. But of course, some psycho/stalker "fan" who monitors his EVERY move has to notice that he unfollowed the Cavs so now it's a HUGE  deal.Benny The Jet;1788407 wrote:Good grief is this team (lebron ) full of drama. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that Lebron has the mindset/psyche of a 14 year old girl. Just win a ring....don't care WTF else you do.

Pat Riley is the person strong enough not to put up with LeBron's drama, and it led to two titles. Athletically, LeBron can do things in this game that no one else could ever do. It's just sad that he is not mentally tougher.Benny The Jet;1788407 wrote:Good grief is this team (lebron ) full of drama. He also unfollowed all of the local Cleveland reporters to prep for the playoffs. Not a big deal.

I've only been around Cleveland sports and media my whole life so I legitimately don't know...are all major sports market's media this way? Seems like Cleveland's sports media is awful at digging at stupid stuff, trying to make a story out of nothing, or calling for a coach's/player's benching/firing when things aren't going the way they want.

Cleveland is right up there with the worst sports media around but it doesn't help when you have passive/aggressive guys like Lebron stirring the pot. You don't see this shit with Curry or other stars in the league. The Cleveland media does eat into this shit though. To a certain point, can you blame them when it comes to LBJ? He's already left before and now he's throwing out this subliminal crap for people to read into. I will say if something like this (LBJ) were happening in NYC or LA it would likely be 10x's as bad.Benny The Jet;1788423 wrote:I've only been around Cleveland sports and media my whole life so I legitimately don't know...are all major sports market's media this way? It's also magnified in Cleveland because there is nothing positive on the sports scene to report and the fans are so used to the negative that they eat this stuff up. At least in a market like LA or NYC, there are many other teams and stories to balance it out.

Yeah, Philly in the last few years has been similar. They expect titles and over the last 5 years I believe all of their teams have been at the very bottom of their respective leagues.

Lebron being a baby; what else is new?
I hope this guy brings us a ring and then I don't care what he does. His antics are getting old.
