I've posted this before but since that's what we do on here I'll go again.

Love was very good on the TWolves 19 feet and in. Very active offensively from the basket to about that distance....now he's at 24 feet and I just don't get it. Do we know the Cavs would be better at scoring/creating/getting to the basket because of that 5 feet? Can he not get the ball in a post like position and make a move and kick it out? He was a damn good judge of what to do and scoring for the TWolves. Now he's pretty much only getting ball off of Lebron passes and for 3. 3 point is clearly out of his "great" range...he can hit just enough I guess but I'd guess Delly would be better option of only doing that. Love can score from the paint and it's baffling to me to watch. Why not try it for a few games? Get him the touches because every plan of guarding him is now for the 3....throw them off by going back to what he does best, maybe he being productive in the paint area also open up the offense more than what we've seen most of the season.

The Cavs are painful to watch on offense far too often....and Love shooting 3's happens way too often on offense. To me it's stubborn not to try him with what he does best.

So I like the offense better under lue so far. Much better ball movement. A lot more open shots.

Suns suck, but was a nice offensive game. Everyone seemed to buy in to passing the ball to the open man.

I do like the idea of having Love run with the 2's in the 2nd/4th quarters, lets him make an impact on offense, and then when the 1's come in, hes able to focus more on defense and rebounding.

Suns just lost to the Sixers the other night. They are terrible but playing good is always good. JR and Jefferson were excellent offensively.

Kyrie will get consistency after the break

Kyrie's biggest issue right now, he's being a ball hog. Gets too dribble to shot happy. Doesn't do enough passing off those dribbles.

I would hope the Cavs would trounce the suns. They are shitty, and the Cavs just hired one of their ex coaches. Cavs need a win against a good team (with Lue as coach) so we can get over talking about this dooms day shit. Also, QQ about Love all you want, but I will take 21 and 11 any day of the week. I hope Lue is finally figuring something out for Love.

I agree that they should trounce the suns, but it was more of how they played to me. They were moving, up tempo, finding the open man. Under Blatt they liked to dribble the stripes off the ball for 20 seconds and take a contested 25 footer. So while they probably wont beat a good team by 20, it was good to see they did what they were supposed to do.

Can't remember the stat but Love makes a very high percentage of the hook shots he takes, it seems like he took more last night than normal, hopefully it continues.

Found it, just under 70% as of Jan. 5th.

The NBA needs to do away with the silly rules that dictate who can and cannot coach the all-star teams. Also, out of curiosity, was Walton ineligible to coach the west because technically Kerr is the coach and coached last year? Or because Kerr resumed head coaching duties at the time they named the coaches?

According to PTI, it's b/c Kerr coached them last year.

$22M/yr for a 2nd string player.

What a joke.

Not 2nd string.. come on sleeper. It's really what should have been going on for a long long time. Give him time on the court as the first option, that's just good coaching.

I'd still prefer to start shopping him. It's pretty clear he's a waste of space and money for the Cavs.

Who can/will the Cavs get that will allow them to beat GS in a series?

My guess is no one.

Pretty much. We have to hope GSW gets the injury bug to one of their core players.

Iggy is probably the least valuable piece that could get injured but without him GSW has trouble matching up with the Cavs. Obviously take Curry off the team and they are dogshit but Iggy is really the achilles heel since he seems to be able to wear down Lebron effectively. It remains to be seen whether Irving can make enough of a difference offensively when Lebron needs some back up but as well saw about a week ago, GSW still crushed the full strength Cavs.

That injury bug is due for them. Even minor injuries at this point help a lot.

Kyrie was pretty not good last night. Dribbled the air out of the ball and got nothing from it. Turnovers and a bad shooting night. I understand shooters feel like they need to shoot their way out of a bad night...but at some point he needs to realize he needs to be a facilitator and it's just not his night shooting.

If the Cavs really want to be this up-tempo team...then Lebron and Kyrie might have to do a little ego check. They both are extreme ISO players for the most part. If the ball gets to them...it stops moving. Lebron did a good job last night of looking to move the ball around and push...but I don't think Kyrie has gotten the message yet.

Kyrie is not your traditional PG. He's definitely an iso player instead of a team facilitator.

I disagree about Lebron though being solely an iso player. Lebron is actually a really good PG but he does go iso when he senses the team needs points which I have no problem with. Early in Lebron's career he would always make the best pass even in late game situations but now it seems he's more willing to be selfish when the game is on the line.

The issue is, the Cavs have two elite PGs that both need the ball in their hand to make plays. That is a roster issue as well. I'm not advocating that we move Kyrie because he's a great player, but I could see Griffin pulling the trigger for a big time SG to come in plus assets.

Kyrie's ball-sticking is the biggest reason for Love's disappearance, IMO.

Found an advanced stat Cavs podcast called Cavalytics. They convinced me that I'm being too hard on Love and there is still optimism for this team. Lets all hope KI can get back to form pre injury.
