It is going to be either Rosa Parks or Harriet Tubman.
Honestly I can't think of a white woman that is deserving, unless you open the door to singers/actresses.

But if you put a black person on the $10, is it then worth less than $10?

And if should be Harriet Tubman. Rosa Parks was just too lazy to walk to the back of the bus, which would only serve to perpetuate stereotypes.

I think Grace Hopper would at least belong in the conversation.

Never heard of her, but after reading her Wiki I'd agree.

gosh a ruddies of course you would endorse the perpetrator of the Trail of Tears and more than any President in our history directly responsible for the economic hardship of his times.

Just met someone who works at the Denver US Mint the other day. A bit of information, they are not allowed to put anyone on a bill/coin that is alive. The reason all the Presidential dollar coins that have gone out stopped at Reagan, it is because Carter/Clinton/Bushx2 etc are all still alive.

So, by law they won't put any woman currently alive on the bill.

I would think they, based on some liberal agenda, and because she well deserves it, that it would be Harriet Tubman with all the Underground Railroad work she did.

I'm aware of the rule. I'm thinking a President's wife from a significant President like Washington or Lincoln. Harriet Tubman is another favorite. Or maybe a woman who was prominent in getting the right to vote for women.

Once you float the idea it's going to be a black woman, then it HAS to be a black woman...otherwise riots.

I thought of Eleanor Roosevelt when someone mentioned a First Lady....Nancy Reagan, no. Jackie O?

I just think a First Lady is a tough sell over Tubman, Parks or some famous women's rights activist. And I can't name any of the latter off the top of my head, which goes to illustrate black history, at least until fairly recently, has been a much more prominent part of curriculum than women's history.

Forget Hamilton on the $10. I would like to see Harriet Tubman, anti-slavery Republican, replace Andrew Jackson, pro-slavery Democrat, on the $20.

It seems like Sacagawea is getting the shaft with her 1 dollar coins.

There are plenty of prominent women in US history that deserve to be on the bill, black or white. I'd prefer it to be a black women, because it would be 1 less thing we would hear bitching about.

I quoted you out of habit of being the last post at the time, but meant it for those above stating names of people that weren't dead.

Unfortunately this. If it's a white woman, we will have to deal with the liberal media calling the US Mint a bunch of racists for not picking a black woman. I can already see it.

Ben Bernanke absolutely appalled by the idea of removing Hamilton from the $10 bill. He should be, as should everyone. I am glad he called out obama's treasury secretary Jack Lew for another boneheaded decision.

Lulz. The only thing I care about is the number on the bill, not who the fuck is on it, drama queen.
