Apparently not if you can't even get it to work. I have Amazon Fire TV. It works fine. Hope this helps.

Don't have an issue with Roku or AppleTV, except my Roku isn't hard wired so it can be spotty with internet connection.

Chromecast is not hard wired system you just plug in the Chromecast into the back of the TV, download the Network Apps on to your IPAD, Smart Phone or Tablet enter in a password to your wireless router and it works....

I have a Chromecast. I bought it because it was cheap ($25) and have really only used it once. I brought it home with me on this latest trip to share my Hawai'i pictures, but for whatever reason it wasn't connecting right to my parents home network. I kept getting an error (forget the exact error), so we just had to huddle around my laptop computer screen. Chromecast is perfect/ideal for traveling, but infuriating when you can't get it to work.

Everything works just fine also with hulu, abc, nbc, cbs, fox and few others but the History and A&E is giving me problems.

Does the Amazon Fire get History and A&E ?

I paid $35.00 no big deal.... At first I had a problem because of my poor router signal. My router is in the far back office and it has four walls and one is a brick wall, to get to the Family room TV signal power was only 2 bars to use Chromecast for that TV, I will have to strenghen the router signal to that area. The TV up stairs was perfect all the power bars signalat full strenght and not a problem. If you get good router signal there is a list of great movie, sport and tv networks you can pick up .... I've been downloading the apps (10) so far and reviewing some of them, just to if i want to keep them or not..

I have Amazon fire stick and chromecast. I like the fire stick better. Sling TV is also compatible with the fire stick.

I have a Chromecast and an Amazon Fire Stick.

Prefer the Fire Stick since with Chromecast I can really only use Netflix, but with Fire Stick I can use Netflix and Amazon Prime. The other apps all cross over (except for Sling TV, but I'm not ready to completely cut cable and go strictly to Sling just yet). Plus, everything is right on the Fire Stick, so I don't have to have my phone or tablet loaded up with those apps in order to get the Fire Stick to work.
