Can someone else please explain the difference to webfire between the existence of circumstantial evidence and the strength of it?

I'm really sick of repeating myself because he's too dense to comprehend the difference.

@AlbertBreer: In the letter, the NFLPA/Jeffrey Kessler say they intend to call Goodell as a witness in the appeal, therefore he can't serve as arbitrator.

A skidmark at an accident scene is circumstantial evidence. Your turn.

Let me try wording it different. The texts are indeed circumstantial evidence. But the evidence cannot lead to the conclusion or assumption that Brady ordered the balls to be deflated below NFL rules after inspection had taken place.

In fact, pretty much everything in existence is circumstantial evidence of something. But it isn't circumstantial evidence to everything.

I agree it doesn't matter though because you already denied the existence of circumstantial evidence even if you change your tune now.

I probably defend Goodell more than anyone, but I just dont know how he gets off thinking he would be the right person to rule on the appeal. Just boggles my mind how much power he believes he should have.
He had Vincent lay down the law and such (then ok'd it) but I think he should still even step back on this and let someone else rule on the appeal

Goodell has a bigger ego than LeBron and unless he's forced to step aside, that mofo will be there...he needs to be in the spotlight.

So you are saying that if the NFL starts to falter or cannot get any better he will go be the commissioner in a different sport instead?

I wonder what the public perception would be for those who haven't heard the story yet, and haven had their opinions shaped for them through the media.

I feel like it wouldn't be a big deal. I always get annoyed when "sports guy" from the office asks you a question and his argument always mirrors what he just heard on the radio on the drive in to work.

Yeah, so Brady and the Pats have good lawyers ... Does that surprise you?

Point is Brady, if innocent, can make the whole thing go away just by turning over his phone!
Instead, he has lawyers make a circumferential argument to explain why he won't turn over his phone. But, but, but, privacy rights!
People need to stop thinking that this is a United States Court of law and justice system. It is not. It's an autonomous organization..... And the appeal is going to be heard by the commissioner, because that's what commissioner does!

I hope Brady is innocent just to see everyone have to eat a bag of dicks and get over the fact Brady and the Patriots are better than your team ( and my team.)

There's a 0% chance Brady is innocent. Your QB is a cheat ,and so is your Head Coach. You just have to live with that..

I know I'm a douche but Brady is not a cheat man. This is nothing to me. It's not Jerry rice and stick em gloves. There is no real data that can show where this is a real advantage.

Show me the skills contest where Brady does more with a ball that is slightly under inflated versus regulation.

I liked basketballs a certain way but I can't say for sure my shooting percentage was any better than one I didn't like.

Patriots are not my team. The fact is though, Brady is a great QB. Top five ever easily.

I just find this outrage from people hilarious when you could easily find something/someone from every team who bends the rules or flat out cheats. I would guess every team in the league has probably had someone busted for PEDs.

Don't disagree about Brady being top 5.

Still a cheater though.

LOL... You won't find one… because it's cheating!

.... And when they're found out they should be dealt with appropriately.

I've said before that I thought the punishment was too harsh, given the NFL's complicity in this, but you can't just give him a free pass on this just because he's "Tom Brady". Tampering with the equipment is cheating and it is an integrity of the game issue. There is at least, an appearance of tampering with the equipment, and Brady can go a long way in clearing up this appearance by surrendering a key piece of evidence, that is, his phone. He can do this conditionally, I. E., it be examined with his lawyers present, and with the distinct understanding that any information divulged to the public by the organization would be subject to a civil lawsuit. This is how an innocent man, concerned with his own reputation, and that of the league, would act . That appearance does not go away no matter how much his lawyers bob and weave and how much spin they can put in their argument as long as the key piece of evidence is missing.... Evidence that he most certainly can provide.

And they have multitudes of Super Bowl wins, Super Bowl appearances, League and division championships...YOUR team has none of those BUT they do have a drug & alcohol riddled QB, a coach that is completely out of his depth and an owner that is a convicted con artist. Impressive dick head.

How is that you imbecilic moron? It has everything to do with this thread. Brady & Belichek are winners because they push the envelope of strategy and rules. If the GD Commish has proof they intentionally went out to break rules let him show it...but he doesn't so he's using innuendo as his basis to punish the Pats. This is a travesty and before long the NFL will be as worthless to watch as the fkn NGBA* is today.
