I get what you're saying, but there's more to "supporting athletics" than attending a bonfire. Maybe it's just me getting old & cynical....but the bonfire is a waste of time if you're not a student.....or a pyromaniac.

Beating Wooster will never get old....ask the volleyball team. Last time the varsity volleyball team lost to Wooster, the current seniors were in 5th grade. That's what matters. Not that a pile of pallets were torched.

I don't disagree that winning is what is important, but there are some special bonds made on a team that goes and does things like that.

On the Volleyball thing...that is AWESOME!

There was nothing fake about that petition drive. I said I would do it and I did. I even had a business in Orrville offer to put it in their window. Again I am not the minority on this matter anymore. There are 6 people on here that are from Orrville and defend Davault and 4 of them don't go to the games. There are many that want to remain quiet and not share their opinion and I am not one of those. Thanks!

There was also a business that got wind of your plan to host the event at this establishment and made a Facebook post on their page saying they wanted no part of it.

That got a lot of positive feedback as this establishment has been a great supporter of our athletic program for decades.

I'm guessing only Old Rider and Oldest Rider 2 because they have a dog in the fight.

Agreed 1_beast. RRN is the biggest piece of trash there is. Such a huge fan who goes to none of the games.

And the team didn't watch film yesterday because Davault said they wouldn't get anything out of it?? Wow! Great leadership coach!!

Good coaches take games like Friday and pick out the things to work on to make the team better but not Davault. Let's just skip it guys!

Domer didn't play in the 2nd half & Hersh didn't dress??

Any shot we have at winning another game hinges on those 2...and everyone else staying healthy.

From OCC commish about Orrville joining the PAC....in today's paper.

"Every school liked competing against Orrville teams. They elevated the play of other schools.

But I completely understand why they're leaving. They just don't have the horses to pull the wagon anymore."

Hurts to agree with that....but it's the truth.

I was told Tony Lee at Triway skipped films the Saturday after Manchester for the same exact reason. Must be a horrible coach.

Here's film...they ran it for 300+ on us & there's no personnel or scheme change that would have changed anything about that.

Maybe coaches should have made the kids watch film, curse up a storm, throw things against the wall & get in the kids faces some. Would that be better? That seems to be what good coaches are made of right?

Domer twisted his knee so the coaches chose to sit him the 2nd half and Hersh is nursing a groin injury. Both should be good for Friday...if that means anything.

C'mon rr1, although it was a different time, that method seemed to work for Smitty, and not many former players under him would disagree. Also, many of the high schoolers that "lack" talent and are "lazy" are probably the children of many of those former athletes/players.
