To add icing on the cake, Roy essentially just blamed Dean Smith for the loss (with regard to why he did not call a timeout at the end). One of the more satisfying Duke victories in this rivalry.

Haven't been on here in quite a while. Good to see a lot of the same guys still around.
What happened in Chapel Hill tonight was absurd. Carolina had countless chances to close out that game, but just refused to put the nail in the coffin. K did a great job of having his guys deny the ball to Johnson in the post, and he spread the floor and allowed Ingram and Allen (who travels more than any player in history) to exploit inferior defenders. Meanwhile, Roy did nothing to counteract the post denial, and Brice Johnson barely touched the ball the last ten minutes of the game. Carolina was worthless offensively after going up 68-60, and the smarter team made plays down the stretch to win the game.
Roy refuses to call timeouts at key points in the game, he can't make in-game adjustments, and he can't coach defense. He got completely out coached by K yet again, and the Heels lost a game they had no business losing. This scene is becoming far too familiar, especially against Duke. It makes me sick.

Most wide open tournament in as long as I can remember. Literally 30 teams could win it all.

Not sure if I'm looking forward to it or dreading it, but the Carolina/Miami game is for the outright lead in the ACC standings.
Obviously it's a big game, but it's even more important for North Carolina from my perspective. Going into the season, I knew it was gonna be a down year for college basketball, and I thought maybe Carolina could win a title with a team that wasn't going to be a typical championship-caliber squad. I've had my doubts all year, and the debacle against Duke reinforced that doubt. Even in a down year for college basketball, I'm afraid that this Carolina team isn't going to do much in March/April. They have squandered leads in every loss this season, sometimes even double digit leads. You can't go anywhere in the tournament if you can't finish.
They can pick up the pieces, get back on track against Miami, and then play with a chip on their shoulder the rest of the year. Or they can lose to Miami today and just start to completely fold. Hope that I see hungry and motivated Tar Heels today.

My opinion...must win for the Heels.
A loss here just will snowball. A win will set their mind straight for the rest of the year.

With a 96-71 win over Miami, Carolina now sits alone in 1st place in the ACC.
Great bounce back effort after the demoralizing loss on Wednesday. I hope to see this Carolina team the rest of the season.

Kansas now has 2 game lead in Big 12. That likely locks up at least a share for their 12 straight conference title. Just incredible.

One of Self's better coaching jobs. This team is not as talented as previous ones but they'll more than likely win the Big 12 outright.slingshot4ever;1782499 wrote:Kansas now has 2 game lead in Big 12. That likely locks up at least a share for their 12 straight conference title. Just incredible.
Hoping there's no early exit this year in March.
