Well, fair or not, Memphis is who got penalized. Nothing is really fixed. People just don't hammer Memphis because Memphis is irrelevant.

Memphis got penalized because Cal was in Lexington already.

Not to re-hash the topic, but Calipari actually wasn't named in the final penalties. The NCAA will still hammer coaches who have moved on (see Frank Haith and Donnie Tyndal as recent examples). I've never believed that he Cal was completely in the dark, but Memphis was punished, he was NOT named.

That wasn't the point of the thread though. It will be interesting to see what the NCAA does here as this is the exact same thing as the Rose situation.

Jesus. Lol at the rose situation and trying to act like cal didn't know/probably set it up. I realize you now worship the guy but he's still Cal.. and has a long track record.

I never said that though. I actually said the opposite, that he probably did know about it. The facts are that he was not punished for it individually, whereas other coaches are punished individually regardless of where they go after it goes down. All I'm saying is this is the same case. We'll see if the NCAA rules consistently.

Crazy in the Atlantic Sun. Stetson was 6-21 vs D-1 teams this year. They were the last seed. They are in the finals. However, they are ineligible for the NCAA Tournament. The conference would then get to choose who gets their bid. The fair thing would give it to North Florida, the regular season champ...who just lost by 33 in the semifinals!

Even crazier, they won their first game by 15 and their next game by 20. Such a bad team, blowing everyone else out.

You'd either have to give it to them or FGCU who beat North Florida to go to the title game. But you are right that is pretty crazy about Stetson. Almost makes me want to watch on Sunday to see if they can finish the job.

If you are ineligible for the NCAA tournament, you should not be playing in a conference tournament. Period. Doesn't matter how big the school is(Louisville) or small.

And the bid should go to the team who plays in the conference final. They at least earned the right to play for the bid. Unlike the team who lost in the semi.

OR the conference just doesn't get a bid.

Florida Gulf Coast would have an argument, win or lose. They just beat North Florida on a neutral court by 33 last night. None of the teams in the league are any good, including North Florida.

I would give it to the regular season champ, personally.

The commentating crew covering the OVC tournament has gone full Bill Walton, having now referred to Austin Peay head coach Dave Loos as a "coaching maestro" and "legend." This is the first time I've ever heard of the guy. Not to mention, he hasn't posted a winning season since 2010 lol.

The announcer is Norm Chad, so that explains the Walton-esque hyperbole. He just compared Belmont shooting guard Craig Bradshaw to Doug McDermott and when speaking about Roy Williams and Coach K called Dave Loos, who has led Austin Peay to five straight losing campaigns, as good as any of them. Lol. It's actually been pretty entertaining to listen to. I had forgotten Chad did college basketball games.

So is Evan Bradds. It's a damn shame he won't get to play in the NCAAs this year. The all-time field goal percentage leader in college basketball history, Bradds posted 32 points on 15 of 16 shooting from the floor. What a throwback center.

I wanna know how this happens? I've never heard of a person taking an invalid ACT

Well, apparently he took the ACT test out of state for some reason. Basically, the NCAA is investigating the testing center that administered it.

Ben Simmons is my on the final list for the Wooden Award.

No definite reason given, other than it's academic related.

Murray from UK not on the list as well. That's a crime. Haven't heard why he isn't, but I'm sure it's academics as well.

Grayson Allen is on the list despite character being one of the criteria.

Marcus Smart was a Wooden Award finalist. The character criterion is pure fluff.
