Those are bad losses for Kentucky and South Carolina. Road or not, they lost to NIT teams.

Bullshit to announce this in February when your 2 best players are graduate transfer Seniors. Really fucked those guys over all so Pitino could survive.

Might depend. Sounds like the NCAA will still tack on some punishment. Lots of rumors about Pitino being out after this year, either retirement or other jobs (UNLV has been linked).

My point was, they basically threw this year's team (including two 5th year Seniors who UL accepted knowing this possibility) under the bus.

Can't really blame Pitino for this. Those transfers had to have known this was a possibility and still decided to transfer to UL.

Really, you think? Not sure I'd agree. Since UL was denying everything and I'm sure if the kid or their parents asked, they were told it was nothing.

I was kind of taking buike's post as fact that the transfers knew something was going on and there was a chance the sanctions could happen.

When is UNC supposed to get punished? 2050? Seems like their case has been going on for a long time now. Brown, Boeheim and Louisville have all been settled in a timely manner, why not NC?

And a lot of the hate by UK fans toward Pitino is because of his own doing. In fact, he could be liked even less had he hot brought UK back to relevance after the 80's.

It sounds like UL got word that the NCAA is going to hammer them. They did this to try to lessen the blow. They were admitting NOTHING before this. So sure, if Damion Lee or Trey Lewis asked before the season, "hey, is there any chance I could be making a mistake coming here", I doubt they were given any transparency or knowledge.

And actually, for the sake of the school, I think it's a smart move if this gains them some leniency. The big problem here is the timing of it...I mean, 6 weeks before the NCAA's? Those guys busted ass since last March to get all the way to the middle of conference play...only to be denied That's the sleazy thing...not the actual decision.

Not quite. I've been over Pitino leaving UK a long time. He doesn't need hate from UK fans...he's given the entire country many, many reasons and quotes over the last decade at UL to hate him for.
