d1) Dany finally gonna wreck shop
d2) Tyrion there, Jorah back (he sucks at battling) ... intradasting
e) I'm actually interested in the Sparrow shit, and Cersei, Tommen (ghey), Margery, Loras.
f) Really interested in what Littlefinger's long-game is all about, and how each intricacy plays out.

We got a great glimpse of the wights, white walkers/others in episode 8. I think we're good without them for awhile. We got to see the damage they can do, and we got some great glimpses of what is needed to defeat them. The army is building south of the wall, and I feel the focus needs to be on that.
Not sure about longer episodes but definitely a longer season. 10 hours isn't showing enough then they seem to put all the action in the last 2 episodes.

Yeah but how many TV shows are more than 1 hour long? I can't think of 1. Thing is when they do the filler episodes which were the first 7, how many would lose complete interest if it was more than an hour long?

I believe you're reading too much into it. Hardcore fans of the show would not give one single fuck if it was 1.5 hours long.

Shows aren't even an hour. They're usually less than 50 minutes. On HBO it says the episode is 63 minutes, well the show doesn't start until 5 minutes in because of previously on and the retarded long intro, and it ended at the 53 minute mark. The episodes could definitely be longer.

I'm a pretty hardcore fan of the show and almost halfway through the books. I'd say just do a 15 show season instead of longer episodes. I still think 10 episodes is just not enough to get everything out.

Either way more episodes or longer episodes I'd like because I just want more content. So many stories need to evolve yet you blink and the episode is over.

I think Dany is immune with Targaryan blood.

And ETB, I dont care how much Pedo/Rape/Incest there is...nothing is worse that burning your daughter at the stake. Nothing. That was fucked up and the hardest scene for me to watch yet.

What I wonder, is if she can still pass it along? They made a point to show her holding hands with Missandie.

I have no idea not having read the books, but based on what I've seen from the show:
1) Shireen is cured - she no longer has grayscale, but it left her with permanent scars
2) Jorah touches Dany with his hand that isn't infected...I'll assume the contagious part is where active lesions are.

Books won't help you much in figuring this thing out, since Jorah never got the grayscale there. And hasn't gotten Tyrion over to Dany yet, either. Dany has taken the Drogan express the fuck out of Meereen in the books, but that's about it for similarities in that story arc.

Personally, I like the departures. Since, with many arcs, the show is either ahead of the books or about ahead of them, all the departures means it will still be worth my time to read Winds of Winter when it comes out and the majority of the book won't be spoiled by the show.

If RR is smart and wants to maximize his coin, the next book will come out before next season. I think many fans, including myself, would probably grab it to find out what happens. I don't have much interest in slogging thru like 3000 pages to get to where GoT currently is, but I'd enjoy picking up more detail and story in the books from here.

I'm not convinced that GoT is telling a drastically different story...I think the RR and the producers have made some choices that work better for the compressed format, and RR has maybe made some tweaks he feels improve the story.

Aside from maybe Sansa, and even then....it doesn't sound to me like there have been any material departures that aren't fairly easily reconciled to get the show and books back on the same path. Certainly they'll end-up in the same place, even if they get there a bit differently.

Yes, and no (from what I've read online). They're deviating some, but mostly because GRRM was incredibly looooooooooong winded in his last couple books, so they're combining characters/storylines/etc. One thing I've read is that GRRM has, in a sense, given him an outline of where he sees the story going, but both GRRM and D&D have to figure out how to get there.
