Looked to me like it was wide right and under the rim when he touched it, would have to see it again.

Hey, I've got New Mexico St. over Kansas

Those two 14-seeds blow my mind - didn't Iowa St and Baylor have most of their guys back from last year's tourney teams?

Definitely wasn't wide. It would've definitely grazed the rim. Bottom line though, you can't touch the ball there.

I agreed with you at first glance, then I saw a replay. Definite goal tend.

Scott must have played in the worst league in the country to be a HS All American.

LOOKED like it was going to hit the rim...maybe too close to make that call there on that poor of a shot. They still had their chance to win, but that's a damn tough call to make.

The angle from where the shooter is makes it pretty obvious.

Ohio State looks terrible. They have no idea how to play against that VCU D at all, you have to move the ball in the half court and hit jumpers, not take it right to them

You mean to tell me that having an offense that can move the ball and makes shots is good?

Brilliant.

Next you'll tell us that not turning over the ball and scoring TD's is critical to winning in football!

Section 34. Goaltending
Art. 1. Goaltending shall have occurred when a defensive player touches the ball during a field-goal try and each of the following conditions is met: Exceptions: Rules 10-3.6; 10-6.1.i
a. The ball is in its downward flight; and
b. The entire ball is above the level of the ring and has the possibility, while in flight, of entering the basket and is not touching the cylinder.

Bottom line, that was not goaltending considering the ball had 0% chance of entering the basket.

Well sometimes you have offenses where the PG is dominant ball handler and everything comes off him which is what OSU was doing early opposed to running an offense with some flow

Looking at the above angle, it WAS going to hit the cylinder.

Which gives it a chance to go in.

There is no way to say it had 0% chance of going in.

Art. 2. Basket interference
a. Basket interference occurs when a player:
1. Touches the ball or any part of the basket while the ball is on or within
the basket;
2. Touches the ball while any part of it is within the cylinder that has the
ring as its lower base;

No way, it MAY have grazed the rim on the far side, but there is a 0% chance of that shot going in.

But it was in the cylinder which is the other criteria for goal tending. Good call. Stupid play by the goal tender.

How do you let someone hit 4 straight threes without contesting any of them?
