Places I'd want to visit for a weekend but wouldn't want to live (and I've been to all these places)

I have a good friend who's an air traffic controller in Minneapolis. He absolutely loves it there until winter hits and then he hates it.

Flagstaff is the best city around 70k for population and 135k pop. for the entire metro area.
Not a huge city. Perfect size and location too.

Solid list. I hate LA, but its definitely a place you should hit up at least once. Seattle is just a gorgeous city (despite the rain amounts)...same with Portland. Tons of breweries, tons of outdoor activities, just awesome cities.

Charlotte is pretty fun as well. The lakes in the area add to the amount you can do, particularly in the summer months. Downtown, while not big, has a lot going on. Late night food, entertainment and fun bars..and the crowds are young. I wish my company was in Charlotte and not Raleigh.

I can only comment on places I've been to....

NYC is my #1 and it's not even close. I was in San Diego for a few days years ago and would probably consider living there.

I've been in Denver for the past few days, Avon now. First time in CO, this place rocks. The weather has been perfect. I'm not sure I would live here, but I'm kicking myself for not coming much sooner.

+1 for fuck Miami. Awesome place to visit, but not a chance in hell I could live there. People say New Yorkers are assholes, they are just impatient and assertive. I felt a LOT of people I encountered while in Miami genuine assholes.

I've lived in Minneapolis and loved it. Clean, good restaurants, great local breweries, all three major sports, bike/running trail system that is awesome, lakes all over, etc. The cold though, is undeniable.

Ill argue till I am blue in the face that Denver has the best weather in the country, ahead of San Diego. I would love to live there, if I ever got the chance.

San Diego is nice to visit but after living there 5+ years I have no reason to ever go back. It's nice but the cost of living is crazy and way too many Mexicans.

Good call on Orlando. Fuck that city and all the Disney attractions/crowds.

I have never minded Dallas.

Miami I enjoy to vacation, but to be honest, never actually go to the city. Just stay in Coral Cables and go to Key Biscayne.

Atlanta sucks.

I was in Baltimore last year...it wasn't too bad. Yes, there are certainly some shitty parts, but in what city aren't there shitty parts? Great seafood, Camden was gorgeous and the harbor had some good stops. Detroit and Cleveland are by far worse IMO.

Chicago is the best city I've been in. Again, shitty parts, but for the most part an amazing city. I think Columbus is underrated, especially now with the Arena and Brewery Districts.

Phoenix was a shit hole. That may be my least favorite large city. Hot, dirty and the ugliest strippers in north america.

Neither Cleveland nor Baltimore belong in the same atmosphere as Detroit. Detroit is the worst city on the planet.

This is the first time I've ever seen Arizona described as flat and brown by someone who has been there. There are way more mountains out here than I ever expected to see when I moved.

Surprised no mention of Portland. I spent a good deal of time there. Food/Beer culture is top notch. Has it's rainy seasons but the summers are perfect. Clean city. Laid back. Not too crowded but big enough.

Lol Ammo? Total Dbag. Atlanta is gross. The outlying areas are nice for a short time but the downtown sucks, and traffic is a nightmare.

Great/favorite cities (at least to visit): Chicago, Boston, San Diego, Washington DC.,NYC, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Cleveland. Others would be Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas, and Lexington. Have not been to San Antonio, New Orleans, Denver, Seattle or Minneapolis, but I'm sure they are pretty decent.
