"Just heard the Browns are pondering an offer for Brady Quinn. 3rd rounder this year and a conditional 2011 pick to send Quinn to be a backup/eventual starter. Not sure if I'd do it if I was either team."
I would take it in a heart beat!

I would gladly give up a second round pick for McNabb at this point. It's not a pick you like trading, but I don't think people have any appreciation for how much better this team would immediately be with a competent QB like that behind center. He probably has 3-4 more years of being able to compete at a playoff caliber level, and would provide a bridge to a young hand picked Holmgren qb to groom.

I would also ship a first round pick out for Marshall yesterday. He is 25, has 3 100 catch seasons in a row, and would make far more an impact on this team than anyone they could draft at #7. The money won't be drastically different between what you pay a 7 pick and him, but you at least know what you are getting off the bat instead of projecting and hoping. Too many first round picks have been busts with this team that if you could get a sure thing like that you take it.

So it would blow the whole draft up, but you would have a legit #1 receiver capable of stretching the field and a QB who could actually get it to him. That would be an A+ homerun for the Browns in terms of immediately making the team better. You could use every other pick to draft defense, and sign a few targeted free agents and suddenly there might be legit cause to at least have hope.

People get far too married to draft picks emotionally. If you can get sure things you know will dramatically improve the team, it beats hoping and praying you don't miss on someone in the draft.

BR1986FB,

Thank you for joining the FreeHuddle right before this time. I would have been lost this off-season without you.

Seattle is now supposedly about to offer Marshall a contract, and give their #6 pick to Denver in return.

Petey obviously understands that Marshall is far better than anything they could get at that pick. Adam Schefter just made the same remark, that they player you draft at #6 "could" be a great player, but Brandon Marshall "IS" a great player.

I don't understand why more teams don't have that philosophy towards restricted free agents.

Haven't confirmed a source but just heard that Reid has made some kind of offer to keep McNabb.

BTW....we'd have to give up a 4th rounder to the Sea Chickens if we signed Rob Sims to an offer sheet. I do usually like OSU O-Linemen not named "Boone."

I wouldn't like the fact that the Broncos would be picking before the Browns

I know. Those bastards have fucked us enough. They'd probably sign Bannan in FA and then take Eric Berry at #6.

I have high hopes for this new regime, but when names like Sececa Wallace, Carr, Stanton get thrown around it really pisses me off. I know we could be looking at a smoke screen and nothing has been done yet...damn those a some shitty names

You Brown fans remind me of a zitfaced, poybellied man that hasn't been laid in 40 yrs. Your 5th stepfather in 5 yrs is banging your mom, but this one has giving you a pocket full of cash to spend on whores. You sit on the street corner watching all the good looking girls go buy knowing that they dont want you. So you look at each other knowing that you'll have to settle for the fat ugly ones.

I guess it's better than in Shitsburgh where they are pumpin' sister/cousin/mom or the nearest sheep.

Steeler fans favorite holiday? Halloween because they think it's OK to "pump-kin."
